This beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bath home is close to the ocean for those wanting to escape the tourists in a nice quiet area on The Big Island is suitable for all ages. There are many sights and near-by attractions, like Volcanoes National Park and black sand beaches. It’s just a short walk to the cliffs to watch the waves or a short drive to see the lava landscapes. You are in a jungle atmosphere with plenty of moisture, plants, geckos, and coqui frogs to sing you to sleep. Very beautifully landscaped yard with a covered carport for those rainy days. One bedroom has a comfortable king sized bed and the other has two queen sized. The kitchen has everything you might need. Comfy living area with ceiling fans in every room. Outside and down the steps of the kitchen is a covered lanai for relaxing. Entire house, yard, and lanai in back are available for you to enjoy the rainforest of Hawaii. There is a small private Ohana under the house that may be quietly occupied during your stay. A couple comes about twice a year. Doug is available by phone. Except for the animal sounds, this is a quiet and quaint area, the house is located deep in a neighborhood and at the end of the street so it is very private. The funky town of Pahoa is close by. Hilo town with all the amenities is about a half hour drive. People drive slow and relaxed in Hawaii! Getting a rental car is the way to go. If you are adventurous, get a 4x4 so you can drive out to South Point, on the rough road to Green Sand Beach, or head to the top of ManaKea or ManaLoa. If you like to hike, there are many places to do so. There are plenty of private tour guides through trip advisor also. Be careful as plenty DON'T carry insurance or have proper credentials and licenses. Be advised that this is not a Hawaiian resort with white sand beaches. It is the lush, earthy, rainforest side of the Big Island, so expect rain at some point during your stay. Get some mosquito repellent and expect jungle sounds: coqui frogs , insects, chickens and the occasional cow/goat.
