You'll walk up a short, forested path to a private keyless entrance with a front lanai sitting area in view of the native forest. Inside, a breakfast nook with ammenities stocked with breakfast items and snacks. A cozy bedroom with a sitting area, a desk area and a Smart tv await you. WiFi and cable are provided. Your private bath has a walk-in shower. The forest fronting my home is yours to explore. My home is within Volcano Village and just 2 miles from Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park. The bed is a new queen size. A heater and extra covers also supplied for those occasional chilly nights. The comfortable sitting area within the bedroom provides a cozy nook or tv watching space. A desk accommodates your computer. The breakfast nook has a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee and tea making supplies as well as breakfast and snack supplies, toaster oven, filtered water. The spacious bathroom with walk-in shower contains extra toiletries. The front lanai is in a native rain forest setting and has a bistro table chairs for outdoor relaxing. You have a private entrance and are welcome to walk around and relax in the the forested front yard. It's a quiet, lovely space. I am generally home in the evenings and would be glad to offer advice regarding great hikes, beaches, upcoming events, and places to dine. Just ask! You will be staying in a village located at 3,900 feet elevation atop Kilauea Volcano. You'll find homes tucked into the rain forest and bordering ranchland. On morning walks you'll view Mauna Kea and encounter grazing cattle and horses. Within one mile are 5 restaurants, a lunch cafe', post office, laundromat, hardware store and 3 gift shops as well as an art education facility. Two miles up the highway is Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park with an array of cultural and natural adventures, including the erupting lava lake within Halema`uma`u crater. You'll have your own parking space at my home. There is public bus transportation, however, car is the best transportation method here. Uber hasn't caught on here. You can always book a tour with the many reputable companies. Please check out Friends of Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park at 985-7373 for walking/car tours with very knowledgeable guides.
