Aloha dears! This cozy & very private cabin is for 2 people, with 1 Queen bed. We have the most amazing view of stars on clear nights, while the chorus of coqui frogs sing you their lullaby. This nifty little cabin is completely off the grid, but you wouldn't notice any of it, as it is well equipped and works just like any other city powered building with faster WIFI internet than most big cities. Thank you for helping us preserve this paradise we call Earth for all of us. We built and furnished this Eco friendly cabin the way we would love to enjoy it ourselves, utilizing what Mother Nature gifts us on this beautiful tropical island, besides lots of rain and even more sunshine. We only hand cleared the land as much as it was necessary and already re-planting it with different varieties of tropical plants. Lots of Apple banana trees...i mean grass! (did you know bananas are grass?!) Guest can enjoy the whole cabin and its surrounding garden to themselves. The cabin has an outdoor lanai (deck) that could be joined together with the inside by opening the front french doors. You also have the option to let down the bamboo curtains on the lanai for more shade and/or privacy. The kitchenette has a sink, a two burner gas stove and is fully equipped to make coffee (french press or espresso) and tea or more involved cooking. The compact but efficient bathroom has a fully tiled shower with a window and amazing hot rainwater. The flush toilet and sink are standard. A BRAND NEW 13in thick Sealy Posturepedic medium firm QUEEN MATTRESS (60x80in / 152x203cm )with bedbug and water proof mattress cover (I know.. but we spend 1/3rd of our lives in bed) assures an immaculate and good night sleep after or before your adventures. KITCHEN: We got you covered for coffee, tea and creamer. We have filtered rain water for drinking or to make tea and coffee. Farm fresh eggs from our chickens, occasionally we have apple bananas and lilikoi ( passion fruit) to share. Also, usually we have pancake mix and cooking oatmeal for you. WIFI We have free high speed internet available 24/7 Up to 80 mb/s down/up. Password is: 11111111 HD TV The HDTV set is smart so you can sign in to your Netflix, Hulu or other tv options or use our pre-loaded movies on its hard-drive, free of charge. Please contact us if you have any trouble getting a movie on! :-) We are usually up until 10-ish. AUDIO There is a sound system with Bluetooth connection for smart phones, should you decide to listen to your own music. This cabin is the first structure on the property, with its own driveway, parking and garden. We have 3 more buildings further up the driveway (3rd one is the main house we live in and the 2nd is Ohana (Family)) but all structures are spread out far enough not to disturb one another on this 6 acre forest. Liabililty Waiver By booking our establishment all our guests acknowledge that our business and its owners and employees are not liable for any personal injury, health or material damage and / or loss during their stay. In the coolness of the clouds, tucked in a young Ohi'a forest is an eco-friendly cabin that was created for best sleeps and most tranquil stay. Away from noisy roads, commercialism, and even humans (for the most part) we imagined what would be the most satisfying setup we can create for visitors to experience / enjoy what this amazing rain forest offers. Our neighborhood is parceled as they call them spaghetti lots, narrow long farm lots. Most of our neighbors built further in their land just like us for even more privacy, so you only see their driveways. Many properties around us are still unoccupied/undeveloped what reassures us peace and quiet. The Big Island only have a limited bus public transportation ( HeleOn). It takes about 2 - 2 1/2 hours to go from one side of the island to the other side ( just one way) with a car. In Hilo you can also rent scooters and bikes. Our cabin is located in between, but more on the east side next to Volcano and near Hilo. We recommend to take at least 2-4 days to explore the National Park, Warm Ponds ( Ahalanui park) , Champagne Pond, Kehena Beach, Kalapana night market on Wednesdays, Maku'u Sunday market, Hilo beaches, Akaka waterfall and just all the beautiful nature that you won't find on the Kona side! Ask away... we can guide you through this:-)
