Aloha Kahakai
Welcome to Aloha Kahakai. Our warm and inviting bungalow with a large lanai (covered porch) is in walking distance to the shoreline and 1 mile to the beautiful Kehena black sand beach. -Pohoiki is a new beach created from the 2018 lava flow and is a short drive. -Uncle Roberts' farmers market is a local favorite spot for entertainment on Wednesday nights. -The Puna district is a remote and lush part of Hawaii. -Pahoa town is a 20 minute drive with restaurants, grocery stores and a fun vibe. Aloha Kahakai is a serene home by the Ohia forest. The 3 bedroom 1 bath house has a full kitchen made out of bamboo, an inviting living room and a large lanai to relax. Two of the bedrooms have comfy queen size beds. The middle bedroom has a futon. The sofa in the living room is a pull out bed. Two of the bedrooms and living room have ceiling fans. There are lots of windows to enjoy the trade winds. At night you can often hear the ocean in the distance. Mobile service is very limited on this part of the Island. However, with Wifi, cell phones can use Facetime etc... There is a Roku device(Internet TV) for Netflix, Hulu and more. The lush yard has a variety of fruits. (Avocados, bananas, abiu, citrus and pineapple when in season) and flowers. Check in is easy with a lockbox Other things to note This part off Hawaii is lush and tropical. The cute geckos are your friends because they like to eat bugs. We put in a sincere effort to control bugs and mosquitoes, but we are surrounded by nature. Repellent and bug spray are provided. The coqui frogs love to sing throughout the night. There are no streetlights around so the stars are magnificent. Please keep outside lights off when not being used so neighbors can enjoy the stars. Kalapana Seaview is a wonderfully eclectic neighborhood. It's proximity to the ocean with a large park in front is all inspiring. It is surrounded by the forest with the ocean in front. It is a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Kehena black sand beach is clothing optional, frequented by dolphins and truly stunning. It is easy to walk to the ocean in Seaview. Kehena beach is a mile away. (Kehena has a footpath down the cliff, and always be mindful of the surf) -Volcano National Park 47 miles -Hilo Airport 32 miles -Pahoa Town 15 miles -Kona airport 110 miles For Covid, as per the Mayor of Hawaii Island.
