Recently transformed from a horse barn, Kayak Cottage now bears little resemblance to its former use - the hosts managed to retain the former barn's rustic charm while completely redesigning the structure. An eclectic mix of materials were re-purposed to create the welcoming space - both inside and out. Located on a rise above the Collins River - the river is not immediately visible but is only steps away! There is also easy access for launching kayaks or small fishing boats on the property. The space Relax inside or out. Under the spacious covered porch, you'll find a wrought iron table with chairs & vintage church pews, which line the outer walls. (You can even shower in the private outdoor shower off the deck!) Enjoy clear night skies & peaceful solitude while having modern amenities easily at hand: wi-fi, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig, double hot plate, dishes, silverware, seating for 4 at a small round table. The remodeled space consists of one large room with an area for the Cal king size bed (with charming & functional storage areas), a living area with a loveseat, recliner & flat-screen smart TV (no cable or satellite TV, but there is access to Netflix, etc. using your password) and the kitchen. The newly built bathroom has a tile, walk-in shower. Outside is a fire-ring (please bring your own firewood) and a charcoal grill (please bring your own charcoal) for enjoying the night no matter the temperature! Other things to note You will be using our driveway going around the house to Kayak Cottage. Buddy the dog will start howling and chasing your car- just slow down. You can also stop, roll down your window and say "Buddy, stop!" Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't! But he is not a mean dog, just thinks that is his job to let us know someone is there!
