A stunning self catering cottage which sleeps 2 guests and dog friendly. This charming and unique converted chapel is nestled in the beautiful rural hamlet of Wheatcroft which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The chapel was originally built over 200 years ago and still retains the character of its past - think thick stone walls, feature windows and original beams. This former chapel promises a very special Peak District stay. Kitchen, Living & Dining Areas Step inside into the welcoming boot room with space for coats and boots, plus a convenient downstairs WC. The compact but chic kitchen is not only functional but also a delightful space and has everything you need to rustle up indulgent breakfasts in bed or candle lit dinners for two (although you'll want to enjoy a meal or two at the nearby pubs). As a converted chapel you can expect high ceilings and the heart of the cottage is the bright and airy living room, with large windows flooding the room with natural light. Enjoy your morning coffee and enjoy the wonderful far reaching views. Unwind after a day exploring the Peak District in front of the cosy wood burning stove. Handpicked furnishings make it a true home from home. The Old Chapel was also featured on Homes Under The Hammer, filmed in 2016 and screened in 2017. The Bedroom Up the spiral staircase you'll find the impressive mezzanine bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room. In keeping with the rest of the interiors at The Old Chapel, this room sings understated luxury and enjoys wonderful far reaching views over the stunning countryside. Outside The cottage enjoys spectacular panoramic views and unforgettable sunrises. There's a small paved patio area with a table and chairs, ensuring there's a place to enjoy those views with a morning coffee or a glass or two of wine under the stars. With chickens roaming freely around nearby you'll truly feel connected with nature and able to fully switch off and relax. This is a true walkers haven with stunning routes straight from the doorstep and the dramatic landscapes of the Peak District close by. Dogs One furry friend is very welcome at The Old Chapel for a charge of £10 per night. Welcome Hamper A welcome hamper filled with goodies will be waiting for you on arrival including milk, eggs, chocolates, freshly baked sweet treats and a bottle of chilled fizz. Other Things To Note Downstairs is split level with a few steps up from the kitchen into the lounge. There is a spiral staircase and care should be taken. We have free ranging chickens so please ask that pets abide by the rules set out in the welcome guide.
