The space Eco Certificated Location in the Heart of Transylvania Casa Noah is a place for anybody who wants a different kind of touristic experience, for dreamers who want to reset, to meditate, to create, to connect, to reflect. From the first coffee or tea in the morning to the sunset and the starry night sky, this place was designed for a slow living and joyful way of life. We love to think that Casa Noah is a contemporary way of healing, a unique experience and a magical retreat. This place is perfectly suited for singles, couples or families with children. Please note that the house has a shared garden. Nobody ends up at our place by "mistake", but driven somehow by destiny. In this village we host three old Transylvanian houses named Casa Noah - The Yellow House, the Green House and the Blue House, which were originally built over 100 years ago. Right now we are renovating the fourth one - The White House. It seems to be a fairytale land with beautiful roads and mysterious old Saxon houses. The smell of hay, a traditional old church, children laughing and playing in the streets, the sun rising from behind the hills, fruit trees and the sound of sheep- just a few things that build this nice puzzle named Richis. More than that, it's also about the people you will meet here. With different personalities and creative minds, people from all over the world gathered here and mixed with the locals, to create a unique and outstanding community, very well known in Transylvania - The Richis Community. Someone once said : "because of the people I met here, my prejudice about Romania totally changed”. Casa Noah is located up in the village, very close to the hills. If you get out of the house and turn right you will lose yourself soon in this magnificent, unspoiled region of this wild part of Transylvania. This is the point where adventure starts. The surrounding scenery is stunning and there are plenty of nature trails and treks to be explored. But before exploring the nature, let's get back to the quietness and tranquility of the Saxon house. This place (The Green House) has been built hundreds of years ago, but the good energy of the place and the people who made it and used to live here still fill up the whole space. Imagine to sit under a tree in the 800 square metres garden with a book, to stay in a hammock under the vines and meditate or to relax in the sun and get the purest Vitamin D. The courtyard of the Green House is quite big and has an outdoor "in the shadow" dinner place, where you can stay with your whole family The owners, Paul and Catrinel, have a nice beautiful life and stories they like to share with their guests at the bright camp fire that crackles in the evening. They live next door, in The Yellow House. A lot of healing stories have been told under the sparkle of the numerous stars lying on the profoundly black night sky. In the morning you will awake in this romantic surrounding to the scents and sounds of nature, fresh hay and the clopping of the horse shoes. If you are lucky, you can see the hills behind the house full of lovely deers and if you are the "chosen ones" the wise owls will show up in the evening. In Romania that means you will have some positive changes in your life. You get a special healing due to the natural, calm environment and you will go back to the roots of the civilization. We can promise fresh air, traditional healthy food, untouched nature, a good sleep, quietness, lots of smiles and maybe some mysterious adventures and surprises. The rooms are decorated with traditional old restored pieces, but you will also see different spiritual or traditional objects that come from all over the world and from a lot of different cultures. We love traditional interior design with an eclectic sparkle. We believe that this will always remind us that we are lovely in our differences, but the humanity is ONE and as well as the objects, we can also fit in the same place together, even though we might come from different parts of the world. The quality of sleep in our rooms is really high. At least, this is part of our guests' testimonials. Bed linen and towels are provided. Even though we highly recommend NOT to miss the beauty of the nature by being connected to the internet, we do understand the necessity for being online these days. Therefore, you have free internet access and wireless. The kitchen is well equipped including oven and fridge and also all the pots and utensils you need for cooking your own meals to serve them indoors or outdoors, depending on your wish. Although, we highly recommend having dinners with local families. This is a great experience and will make you feel like you belong to this place. The Green House has three parts - the front part, the backpart and the Summer kitchen Room. Therefore, the garden is usually shared by several guests, but, depending on the season, you might end up having this entire paradise to yourself. The main house has 2 double rooms and a kitchen in between. From one of the rooms you can enter the bathroom - that has a sink, toilet and shower. There is an extra toilet outside that you can use. There is an extra third room with a private bathroom, that can be also rented for an extra price and the backpart which has 1 double room, one kitchinette and one private bathroom. This house has old plumbing. PLEASE do not flush anything in the toilet (the toilet paper should be thrown into the garbage). Come with no expectations and you will get plenty of surprises... Passionate about philosophy, literature, spirituality, art, healthy food or fashion, the owners of Casa Noah - Catrinel and Paul - usually attract a wide range of interesting people. You can have the luck or the chance to meet here designers, musicians, architects, travelers, painters, actors, healers, beautiful families with children or lovely couples with lovely energies, travel nomads that search for their peace to work in a healthy environment. Richis is a place that nourishes body and soul, whether you come alone, as a couple, family or group, to discover the beautiful region or to enjoy a time out or an active holiday. Other things to note The village of Richiș is part of the Biertan commune, home to the Fortified Evangelical Church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. ● Richiș is also located within the Transylvanian Highlands, one of Romania’s certified ecotourism destinations, where you can discover an authentic, medieval landscape. The area hosts 60% of Romania’s bird species, 600 species of butterflies, over 1,000 species of plants, and more than half of the country’s downy oak forests. ● The famous Via Transilvanica trail passes right in front of our house. This long-distance route crosses Romania from north to south over 1,400 km and Richiș is part of the Terra Saxonum section. ● We are proud to share that Casa Noah Experience has recently received the "Eco Romania" certificate for best practices in ecotourism, as well as a diploma from the ambassadors of Romania and the Republic of Moldova in Brussels, recognizing our contribution to promoting culture through tourism.
