Rimmon is a detached property with terraced gardens bordered by its own private woodland, in the beautiful Duddon Valley. Rimmon offers the best of both worlds: rural setting with valley views, but 1 mile to Broughton in Furness with a bakery, butcher, groceries, cafes and pubs serving food. Bike and kayak storage. Parking for 4 cars. Bus stop: 300m. Foxfield Rail Station: 3 miles. Direct access from property to hiking and biking routes. Note: Rimmon has external steps to reach its entrance. The space Set within the boundaries of the Lake District National Park, this lovely and spacious property is set over two floors and consists of: Main floor: Three double bedrooms Lounge with log burner (free firewood) and dining table (seats seven), with french doors opening onto the garden terrace, patios and lawn Kitchen Full bathroom (with bath and shower) WC Hallway Attic floor: Double bedroom Lounge with TV and dining table (seats four) Two single beds under the eaves in the lounge Full bathroom (with bath and shower) The two single beds under the eaves in the attic lounge are suitable for children or easy going adults. The property offers flexibility in where to sleep: seven people have the choice of three double beds, a small double bed and two single beds. Note: given Rimmon's layout, a group can split in two and each enjoy their own sleeping, bathroom and lounge areas, while sharing the kitchen. Brand new 2025 Rointe heaters. Outside there’s lots of parking (4 cars), a garden terrace with views across the valley, several patio areas and a lawn which is landscaped to feel like 'a green hug'. The lawn is set against a beautiful rocky outcrop and is bounded by private woodland. There’s outdoor dining on the terrace. There’s also additional garden furniture on the lawn and patio areas geared towards reclining and relaxing. The bike and kayak storage is dry and secure: in the garages (see photos). Accommodates seven bikes. There is a guest folder with local walks and bike rides. The guest folder also contains details of the most local visitor attractions, pubs, shops/services and cafes. Two pubs serving food are within walking distance of Rimmon: The Olde Kings Head (Broughton in Furness) and The Blacksmiths Arms (Broughton Mills). Additionally, The Manor Arms (Broughton in Furness) specialises in craft beers. Broughton in Furness, a beautiful Lake District village, is 3 minutes drive from Rimmon. It is possible to fish on the River Duddon (300m from Rimmon). Please enquire with host r.e. permits etc. The directly adjacent woods, wrapping around the property, belong to Rimmon and are not accessible to the public. As such, there’s plenty of privacy. While guests are staying at Rimmon there is nobody else onsite. Guest access Access to Rimmon is via (lit) external steps leading to a first floor access door (see photos). Guests have sole use of the parking area, garden terrace and lawn area (see photos). Other things to note Rimmon is built on a slope with terraced gardens and steps - and a rocky outcrop - so small children need to be supervised (though the terraced edges are clearly marked and secured with fencing and/or planting).
