Escape to our newly renovated cabin in the heart of George Washington National Forest. We are centrally located near the area's top attractions. Designed for comfort and convenience, the cabin boasts modern amenities, including high speed fiber for uninterrupted virtual meetings, abundant outlets, and a smart TV for digital streaming. Our well sources mineral rich water from pristine aquifers treated by a professional grade UV system, and the home is equipped with central heating and cooling. The space A modern living space in the heart of nature, our newly renovated 3BR/2BA cabin is just 2 hours from Washington, DC. With a focus on sustainability, all appliances are electric, and external lights surrounding the property are solar powered. Our rooms are simply appointed with cotton linens, luggage racks, dresser drawers, and ceiling fans. There are multiple tables and desks for remote workers, and the high speed internet enables uninterrupted virtual meetings and Wi-Fi calling. Our smart TV is equipped with apps to access all major digital streaming services, and there is a selection of books and board games for at-home entertainment. There are multiple decks on the property, both covered and uncovered, with plenty of seating. Outdoor cooking is a breeze on our electric grill/griddle. Just set the temperature and begin to cook. Our kitchen is equipped with all necessary cookware, flatware, drinkware, and appliances, while various seasonings are provided for guest convenience. On a clear evening, metal skewers are the utensils of choice for an evening of s'mores and cider by the fire pit followed by star gazing on the deck. We are fortunate to be situated in the heart of Lost River, less than 1 mile to the Trout Pond Recreation area, where you can take a nature walk around the lake trail, picnic, fish, swim, or relax on the beach. Tasty, fun restaurants are also within 5-15 minutes drive, including the Guesthouse Lost River, The Lost River Grill, Lost & Found Pizza and Provisions, and The General Store & Cafe (ice cream!). For more options, Wardensville is only 20 minutes away and home to one of WV's best farm-to-table restaurants, Mack's Bingo. For those with an adventurous streak, hikes of various levels, gorgeous overlooks and access to the Appalachian Trail are easily accessible from our location. Both Lost River State Park and Wolf Gap Recreation area offer additional activities, including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, disc golf, and fishing. Golfers can also rejoice being near affordably priced Valley View Golf Club, and wine aficionados can enjoy a day wine tasting at local Virginia wineries (such as Wolf Gap, Cave Ridge, Kindred Point, Muse, North Mountain). The fun in WV continues during the winter, as Bryce Resort offers skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. And Autumn in Lost River... well, it's a dream.
