Mountain Laurel Cabin at Hunting Creek Hideaway

Welcome to Mountain Laurel Cabin at Hunting Creek Hideaway, located on Saddleback Mountain, in Thurmont, MD. The cabin is only a few miles away from Camp David and sits on 75 mostly wooded acres, miles of hiking trails on our property that borders and feeds into state trails, fishing streams, golfing, skiing, wineries and more nearby. The space Mountain Laurel cabin at Hunting Creek Hideaway is a one bedroom, one full bathroom cabin located in the Catoctin Mountains. The cabin features a cozy living room with a couch, a twin size daybed, chair that folds out into a twin bed, and "Boccerball" table game. The kitchen is fully furnished, the mudroom has a full size washer and dryer available, along with a coat rack. The bedroom has a queen size bed, chair, dresser, closet with hangers, TV and a desk with many books that you are welcome to enjoy during your stay. The closet has a blowup queen size mattress/sheets, and a pack n play crib. There is plenty of yard space for outside games, tents, etc. There is a firepit with two Adirondack chairs. If you require more chairs, please be sure to bring them along. The living room has a wood stove, for use with prior permission. If you would like to use the wood stove during your stay, please notify us during your booking so we can accommodate your request. From May-September window unit air conditioning will be available. If needed, the unit has baseboard heaters in each room. To use the heaters, the on/off knobs are found directly on the heaters. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub and can be difficult to maneuver depending on abilities. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the entire house. From November to March- if there is any inclement weather, it is necessary to have a 4wd vehicle. If you do not have a 4wd vehicle, please message the host prior to reserving a date. Note- the second room off the mudroom is a storage room. It may be easier to use the side entrance to come in through the mudroom if you have messy clothing. Other things to note You can also check out our social media for Hunting Creek Property Management. This is a working property, so you may see landscapers, and other work happening during your stay. We are mindful of the time that we begin work but we want to keep the property looking beautiful for you and be able to offer more opportunities in the future!
