Much of the wooden structures are original and were lovingly cared for by the original owners, including the gorgeous oak doors, beautiful planked wooden flooring, grand vaulted ceilings, elegant wooden beams, and cleverly designed loft areas. We would like to preserve the original character of the cabin and the surrounding woods so that all our guests can enjoy this historical property to the fullest extent. Please treat this cabin gently and with care. We have also thoughtfully furnished and decorated the cabin with many vintage/antique items to maintain its rustic beauty and charm. Please do not remove or damage decorative items. Disclaimers -- Due to the rugged nature of the cabin and its location in the woods, there may be occasional INSECTS/BUGS (including wood roaches, millipedes, spiders, etc.) that may make their way indoors (particularly in the basement/utility room). This property receives regular indoor and outdoor pest control services. If the sight of insects or bugs make you squeamish, this may not be the place for you! Please note that while everything is set up for a safe and comfortable stay, there are a few things to remember – the loft is off-limits to guests due to the dangerous nature of the ladder and the fact that the loft has open sections without spindles or railings. The walkways outside are also original and the pavement has become uneven over time. Please watch your step. This cabin may not be an ideal environment for a new walker or unsupervised child. Please keep this in mind before booking. Guests are free to explore the outdoors, but the woods are uncleared and there are no defined trails. Mosquitoes, poison ivy, other insects/critters are all possible outdoors. TV - No local channels or cable, only access to Roku at the moment.
