The Downtown House is steeped in all the flavor and festivities of our growing community. Built in 1873, our quirky home boasts fast internet (360Mbps) and amenities for an extended stay. We are steps away from the charming streets of Downtown Laramie and it's thriving restaurants, breweries, unique shops, farmers' market and historic train depot. The University of Wyoming is less than a mile away. This is a great landing spot for those hoping to immerse themselves in the Laramie community. The space This unique old house is simple, small and cozy. The spaces are modest in size but provide everything for a single night or an extended stay. Our home proudly shows all the weathered marks from a century and a half of love. The main floor has one bedroom with a Full-Size bed. The kitchen offers all the standard needs for preparing meals. The living room includes a Daybed with a roll-out Trundle bed. Please notify us if you intend to use the Trundle bed so we can provide adequate blankets and linens. Our quaint yard fosters a fundamental vegetable garden with several juicy perennials. The fence and sizable bushes provide privacy from the street, making this an ideal spot to enjoy evening cocktails and cool Wyoming summers. Guest access This listing is for the ground level of a two-story house. This includes all the spaces pictured. We are currently remodeling the upstairs spaces while offering the ground floor as a cozy rental for visitors to downtown. The second floor is secured with a locked door. All renovations to the upstairs will be limited to time when we do not have guests. Other things to note The Downtown House is truly downtown. The noises of a bustling little town will be right outside your door. We have never felt this depreciated the value of our home but, we want our guests to be aware of this environment. The town of Laramie originated as a railroad town. The Union Pacific railroad runs through the middle of historic downtown and consequently is close to our home. The thick walls of this old house significantly muffle the sounds from outside but, the sounds of the railroad are noticable at times.
