Magical off-grid Tiny Home, North Hilo
Stay under the moon and stars. This location offers the perfect balance of off grid and accessibility. Only a few miles from zip lining, water falls, and much more. Enjoy the sound of your very own waterfall and escape from the hustle and bustle. The hamakua coast is the most magical place on the island of Hawaii. No doubt you will find everything you are looking for and want to come back and enjoy yourself again and again. An opportunity to spend quality time with family away from screens. The space You will be staying in an off-grid, newly built tiny home. The interior is 20x20 attached to a huge covered lanai (porch). There is a full kitchen and a bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower with hot water. There is ample space to relax indoors and to use inflatable matresses to sleep if needed. Two twin size mattresses with linens are provided. The bedroom has a queen size bed and closet. There is also a small loft with easy access that provides extra sleeping space. Keep in mind this space is adequate for sleeping ONLY. Guest access You are welcome to use any part of the tiny home and the whole outdoor premises. There is a beautiful swimming hole with a small waterfall, a firepit, and a small zipline on the property. It is our wish that you enjoy these activities if you desire. If you choose to then you do so AT YOUR OWN RISK. The homeowners are not responsible for any injury that is incurred on the premises including but not limited to use of the firepit, trail, trees (climbing or picking), zipline, waterfall and swimming hole. The swimming hole is deep in the middle and the current strong by the waterfalls so you must be able to swim well to enjoy it safely. There is a shallow side on the opposite end of the waterfalls. The road dead ends at the top of the hill and provides a stunning view of the ocean. Feel free to enjoy this short stroll but keep in mind this is a shared road and please have respect for our two neighbors if you choose to do so. Other things to note The Hamakua coast is like no other place in the world. We invite you to slow down, breath, relax and feel the aloha spirit. Sit on the lanai and take in the sounds of the nearby waterfall, the beauty of the peeakaboo ocean view through the lush rainforest vegetation, look for the wildlife roaming the property, and enjoy fresh-picked mangoes and avocados if the trees are fruiting. Please keep in mind our hale uuku (little home) is off-grid. We rely on rainwater catchment and solar so being mindful of water and power usage is appreciated. There is NO wifi or television. We feel this adds to the experience of feeling relaxed, unplugged, and detached. There is a swimming hole with a small waterfall, a firepit, and a small zipline on the property. Please keep in mind there are very. high and steep drop offs into the gulch below so children should not roam the property without adult supervision. Please take extra consideration of the additional risk to young children under 6 when choosing to stay. The property is extremely dark at night despite the solar lights installed. Enjoy the starry night sky! However, please keep this in mind if you plan to return home late and make sure you have a light source on you. Head lamps and flashlights will be provided in the bottom right drawer in the kitchen. Homeowners are not responsible for any injury incurred while walking around the premises at night.
