Cabin in Manton
Description
2 bedroom cabin situated on over 2 acres with a creek. The property is adjacent to state forest as well. This cabin is our family's favorite place to go to escape the crazy busy pace of this world! We were very intentional in our quest to create a peaceful retreat far away from the stresses of this world where family time is cherished and celebrated! Library of family friendly books and movies as well as games and puzzles. There is even a foosball table! So much to do with family and friends! The space PLEASE READ ALL PROPERTY INFORMATION/DISCLOSURES PRIOR TO BOOKING: There are some charming quirks and things we want you to be fully aware of! The cabin is situated on over 2 acres of wooded property with a stream. Our property is bordered by state land (forest) to the North. This unit is a Suite located on the far South end of the cabin (The side with the garage) and is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath suite with a full kitchen and large sunroom. There is an outdoor eating and bbq space. The North end of the cabin is a separate unit with it's own entrance and driveway. That suite may or may not be rented out during your visit and we do offer the whole cabin for rent with both suites available as a separate listing. Please keep in mind this cabin is in the woods. There is abundant wildlife including but not limited to: mice, rabbits, squirrels, porcupines, deer, grouse, bald eagles, bears, coyotes, owls, snakes etc. We do our absolute best to keep all critters out of the house, however, we are fighting a battle against nature on nature's turf. We are vigilant to stay on top of it and take cleanliness very seriously but if you see signs of critters indoors let us know right away. I cannot guarantee an occasional critter might show up. I will guarantee however that we do our best to keep them out, deal with them when they get in and keep the place clean in the meantime! Depending on the season there may also be abundant insects. Please be aware we do our best to keep them out of the house. But it is quite common to have the entire house clean and spotless and walk in a few hours later to a dead bug on a windowsill or a spider weaving a tapestry in the corner. The property is on a well and there is hard water. The water (especially the hot water) has an odor that can be unpleasant to some if they did not grow up with well water. The water is potable (we drink it) but please plan to bring bottled water if you are concerned. If the water having a slight sulfer scent bothers you please consider this before booking. There is little to no cell service at the property. We have found that if you go outside near the end of the driveway service is a little better. However we hope that you will embrace the chance to leave all of the technology behind if possible. But in case of emergency we are almost always able to get texts or calls out. There is also NO Wifi or Cable TV, this is on purpose, we don't want the distraction. We hope you will appreciate being unplugged as much as we do! Again, if having cable or wifi is a deal breaker please book elsewhere! There is no air conditioning. We provide fans for every room. I tried to be completely transparent, we want people to know exactly what to expect and we want you to enjoy your stay without any surprises. We also hope to manage expectations because getting negative reviews about things we cannot change is harmful for our listing. Please feel free to ask any and all questions and we will answer honestly and fully! This is our family cabin and we use this space consistently! We take a lot of pride in the space and we love it, quirks and all. We sincerely hope it is used and enjoyed by friends, family and like-minded travelers. The cabin is a place to unwind and be in nature with loved ones. If these disclosures make you think...wow, none of that bothers me, that sounds like exactly the type of place we are looking for then we WELCOME you warmly and trust you will enjoy your stay greatly!! Guest access Please note: the land directly to the North of the cabin is state land, you are welcome to hike and enjoy that land per the state laws. The land directly to the East and South is owned by our neighbor, he has trails on his land but he only allows use with permission. Please do not trespass on his land without prior approval.
