The space The home is a simple, serene ranch on one acre of wonderful nature, right along the Empire State Rail Trail and in easy walking distance to everything. Very friendly, quiet neighborhood. There's a barn for storing your bikes and a short access path to the rail trail from the back yard. Guest access You're welcome to use the kitchen to make tea or coffee; use the fridge, heat up food in the microwave. Please no full-fledged cooking on the gas stove. I kindly do ask for your understanding that the living room is not designated as a communal guest lounge area. You're welcome to enjoy the deck or front yard anytime. Use the barn to store skis or bikes. During your stay I'm available 24/7 by phone. Most weekends I'm not home; but if I am I still try to stay out of your way to give you as much privacy as possible. Other things to note Free cancellation with 48 hours' notice. There is free, off street parking. However, if you arrive in any kind of vehicle weighing more than 5,500 lbs it must be parked on the street across from the two mailboxes because vehicles of extra heavy weight are wrecking the driveway. Window AC available only during the summer. Please, only take from the fridge what particularly belongs to you. All other items belong to the house or other guests. Infants and children: To ensure a quiet and restful stay for all guests, I cannot host children under 6 years old. A child counts toward the number of guests limited to one rental unit. If you visit between October and April, please know that in the Hudson Valley, we live in synchrony with nature and the environment, and we dress in accordance to the season. This means that even indoors, wear sweaters rather than cranking up the heat and just wearing a T-shirt.
