Description

Traditional 2-bed fisherman's cottage (1800s) in central St Ives, sleeps 5. 5-minute walk to the harbour & beaches. Ground floor: living room, kitchen, bathroom with a shower. Small courtyard for BBQs. First floor: double bedroom and triple sleeper bunk (double/single). Pet-friendly (2 dogs max, £35). No private parking. Welcome pack included. Note: steep stairs, shared courtyard access, no outdoor bin storage. Short stays are available outside peak season. Digital guide & 24hr support provided. The space The ground floor of the cottage has a sitting room, kitchen, and bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Just off the kitchen is shared access with the cottage next door to our private courtyard. This is an old-character cottage so the steps to the upstairs bedrooms may be a bit steep for those with mobility concerns. The first floor is where both bedrooms are. The first bedroom has a double bed, and the second has a triple sleeper bunk bed, a double on the bottom and a single bed on top. The single-top bed is more suited for children than adults. We accept pets for an additional fee; we ask that they are not let up on the furniture or beds and that the towels provided are not used for pets. Also, we ask the pets are not left unattended in the property or the courtyard. Please don't let your pet use the back courtyard as a toilet. Let's talk about parking. We do not have parking at the cottage. We are a few minutes from the Station Carpark or ten to fifteen minutes from the Island Carpark. Parking is usually not a problem out of season, but during the summer months, you may have to park up at the coach park at the top of town, but there is a footpath that leads back to town. We usually drop off our belongings at the cottage and then park up. You can purchase daily or weekly parking tickets, and there is an excellent bus service if you want to visit any of the surrounding towns. One more thing to note: the roads around St Ives can be pretty narrow, so be careful. We are happy to take Short Stays (2 nights), but over the school holidays and the summer, we try to prioritise families looking for a week's stay first. Closer to the time, and we gladly accept a shorter stay if the cottage has not been booked. From July to mid-September, we only accept 7 or 14-night stays, with a changeover on Saturdays. From Christmas to New Year, we have a minimum stay of 5 nights. Also, if you are bringing a dog, please let us know. There is an additional fee of £35. Please contact us before booking if you want to bring an additional dog. Unfortunately, the rubbish collection in St Ives is just that – rubbish!  As the streets are so narrow, there is no space for an outside bin.  If you are in the cottage for longer than a week, we can arrange to collect the rubbish.  If you do happen to leave rubbish on the property when you depart, there will be a £3 charge per bag.  This is what the cleaner charges to remove them to the tip.  I hope you understand. Guest access The only thing to note here is that the courtyard has shared access with the next-door neighbour. Other things to note A digital guestbook will be sent 30 before your stay. This has lots of information about St Ives, Dog-Friendly places, and, most importantly, Cottage access information that will be sent 1-day prior to your site. Additional House Rules: No parties or events are allowed. No smoking is allowed. Maximum of 2 dogs allowed on prior agreement, no other pets of any kind, please. Pets are not allowed on the furniture or beds No unregistered guests are allowed. Please don’t eat or drink in the bedrooms. Please respect the noise curfew. Please turn down the thermostat when you go out. Please respect check-in and check-out times. Please take extra care of your keys. Lost keys incur a replacement fee. Please take care of the furnishings. You have to pay for damages that exceed the security deposit. Please don’t rearrange the furniture. Please do your dishes. Please take the trash out before you leave. No illegal substances are allowed on the premises.
