Romantic 1930s Beach Cottage
Our cozy 1930s Beach Cottage is located on the shores of Ostrich Bay in Bremerton, WA. It is a quiet getaway filled with everything you need for a romantic and memorable stay. You will find comfortable accommodations with a view of Ostrich Bay and the Olympic Mountains. A beach trail leads through the gardens by the Glass House and continues down to the beach you can access the kayaks, seashells and beautiful sunsets. The space Our Cottage is a wonderful place to enjoy the peacefulness of the Northwest. Whether it is for a honeymoon, a romantic getaway or simply an escape for uninterrupted work, the Cottage will meet your needs. The bedroom has a king bed with bedside tables, reading lamps and a combination alarm clock/charging station - don't forget to bring your charging cords! There are also an additional 2 pillows in the closet. Also in the closet you will find a set of drawers, an ironing board with iron and two plush bathrobes. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, silverware and cookware, appliances, including Instapot, food processer, coffeemaker, blender, toaster and more. The living room has large picture windows overlooking the gardens and the bay and a welcoming gas fireplace that lights with the press of a button. There is a smart tv connected to the internet and the Wi-Fi is free - 100mbps download and 6mpbs upload. The bathroom has a deep soaking tub with a shower. A towel warmer helps to make a cozy transition from bath to bathrobe. The covered patio overlooking the gardens and the bay is a great place to relax in a pair of rocking chairs with a gas fire pit. Additionally, there is a detached deck overlooking Ostrich Bay with Adirondack chairs, sun loungers and another bar height fire pit with seating for 6. From the patio is a winding path through Cottage gardens to the waters of Ostrich Bay. On the way, you will pass the Glass House where you can enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. The Glass House is heated and lighted for the cooler parts of the day and after dark. The path continues down the rustic stairs to the beach where you can catch views of wildlife, boats and even a few rays of the sun. Other activities include beachcombing, kayaking, paddle boarding or whatever your heart desires. Please explore our pictures - they say a lot more than we can here! Other things to note We are a quick 10-minute drive to the Navy shipyard and Bremerton Ferry. From there, a 50-minute picturesque ferry ride takes you to downtown Seattle within walking distance of Pike Place Market, Seattle Aquarium and Seattle waterfront restaurants and shops. From downtown you can also take the light rail to SeaTac airport, and sports stadiums for Mariners and Seahawks games. Prices for the Washington State Ferries can be found on Washington Department of Transportation website. Kitsap County has a passenger only fast ferry that gets to Seattle in 30 minutes and another short ferry ride to Port Orchard where you can find additional restaurants and shopping. Prices for the fast ferry and Port Orchard ferry can be found on the Kitsap Transit website. Driving to Seattle or SeaTac airport is a little over an hour away (depending on traffic). You can also take a 30-minute drive to Poulsbo where you can enjoy boutique shops and restaurants. Bremerton is also a great starting point to exploring the Olympic peninsula which contains the Olympic National Park, historic Port Townsend and Port Angeles. While this listing is designed for up to 2 guests, we do have other ways to enjoy this property with a larger number of guests.
