This listing: Bromeliads house - Kitchen with refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, sink, and water filter - Balcony with sea view, dining table, barbecue grill, and hammock - Bathroom with water heater for the showers - Studio on the ground floor with one double bed and a single bed used as a sofa - Loft with a low double bed Guest access Common area (that might be shared with guests from the other two units): - Beach (with sand visible at low tide) - Dock - Lawn with outdoor shower, sun loungers, and table - Kaiaks Other things to note AMENITY LIMITATIONS: Mamangua is a unique place that provides incredible experiences, but it also offers some limitations. We want to be as transparent as possible so guests know what to expect. Nevertheless, we are available for any questions or any problems that may arise. NATURE AND ANIMALS: Mamangua is located in the middle of a preserved Atlantic Forest area. As the house is surrounded by nature, you are very likely to hear and see insects, small spiders, bats, cockroaches, geckos (small lizards), and frogs. It is unlikely that poisonous snakes and spiders get close to the house. INTERNET/PHONE: we don't mention wifi as an amenity because the internet isn't completely stable. Also, there is no mobile reception from any of the carriers. We recommend bringing all digital content (books, music, movies, series) already downloaded. ELECTRICITY: lighting and electricity are powered by rural electric power (with low capacity and prone to power outages) combined with solar panels. There are a few sockets available, which mainly support electronics (mobile phones, tables, etc.) and low power consumption home appliances (fan, blender, etc.). It is not possible to connect devices that use a lot of power (A/C, iron, hair dryer, etc.). LINENS & TOWELS: we provide complimentary linen and towels to facilitate logistics for guests, but please bear in mind that they are affected by the humidity and sea air and we cannot wash them at high temperatures or iron them due to the limitations we face in Mamangua. PETS are not allowed for their own safety, as there is no fence around the property, they would be able to access the forest or the trail and other animals can get close to the houses. Also, other guests could feel uncomfortable with their presence as the common areas are shared. RAIN is common in the region, especially during summer. When it rains, electricity outages are very common and we use solar panels as an alternative, but batteries have limited capacity, especially when there is not much sun. When it rains, the wifi can also stop working. In addition, heavy and very constant precipitation can cause water ingress into the house, including bedrooms and bathrooms. Unfortunately, all of these things are beyond our control, but we always try to alleviate the situation and we kindly ask guests to be more understanding and let us know of any specific issue. GROCERIES & OTHER SUPPLIES: it is necessary to bring all clothes, groceries, cash, medicine, and any other items you might need during your stay as there are no supermarkets, stores or ATMs in Mamangua or Paraty Mirim and the closest ones are located in Paraty. There is a corner store in Paraty Mirim (Mercado Sao Paulo) and a small convenience store in Mamangua (Bar do Zizinho), but they offer limited availability and variety of products. We can't offer ingredients and some other products as the humidity and sea air make them spoil quickly. We list a suggestion of what to bring, but if you forget anything, let us know and we will do our best to help out.
