Modern eclectic cabin with mid-century touches. The space Welcome to Modern Pines Cabin in Idyllwild! This classic cabin has been tastefully designed with a curated mix of mid-century modern design, rustic cabin and boho chic. From the classic Pendleton throws to the Herman Miller light fixture or the live edge coffee table, our cabin has that perfect touch of mid-century while still keeping the “cabin-y” feeling of being in the woods. As soon as you enter, you’ll feel the cabin’s relaxed and cozy vibe with the wood interiors, the spacious brick, wood burning fireplace and the high ceilings and windows that look out to greenery throughout it’s 1,100 square feet. The front deck has views to the surrounding pine and cedar trees, and peak views of the mountains beyond. You can enjoy your morning coffee as you gaze up at the pines, or sip your evening cocktails as you listen to the soft breeze through the towering trees above (the most relaxing sound!). The cabin is located in southern Idyllwild in the warmer and more accessible upscale neighborhood of Double View Drive – all roads to and from the cabin are paved and plowed in the winter. You’ll be a five minute drive into the center of the quaint little town where you’ll be able to browse cute shops, go wine tasting or pop into one of the charming restaurants. Idyllwild Arts Academy is less than 2 miles from the cabin, about a five minute drive as well. The cabin is also about a 30 minute walk to Inspiration Point – which is destination for most visitors to Idyllwild. We have a strict no smoking policy on the premises, and no pets. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire cabin. Other things to note HEATING/COOLING: We have central heating and cooling to help keep you at a comfortable temperature whether you are visiting during summer or winter months. KITCHEN, DINING: The kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking/baking/roasting needs...there's even a crock pot. Coffee connoisseurs will appreciate all of our coffee making options – regular coffee brewing, keureg, and of course the Chemex 6 cup pour over! We highly recommend visiting Black Mountain Coffee Roasting in town to grab some ground coffee to use in our pour over – it is absolutely the best. Pull up a stool to the breakfast bar and enjoy a meal there or eat at the dining table (seats 4-5) where you can watch the sun trickle through the trees or the squirrels chomping on their acorns. Alternatively, enjoy a meal at the outdoor dining table or outdoor couch in the warmer months. BEDROOMS: Our cabin has three (3) well appointed bedrooms, with super comfortable memory foam mattresses and down comforters, for when it gets chilly. The primary bedroom has a king bed, and an on-suite bathroom. The second guest room has a queen bed, with access to the back deck and hot tub. The third guest room has a twin-over-full bunk bed, a wall mounted TV and a desk for remote work if needed. LIVING ROOM: Movie and game night is elevated here in front of a roaring wood fire. Watch your favorite shows on the 4k 55” Roku TV. Choose from one of the many board games to play…from chess to Clue, there’s a game for everyone, including a custom cribbage board for those other card players among us. Cuddle up on the West Elm Andes couch, or luxurious leather chairs with washable Pendleton throws. Set your vibe with the record player and choose between the carefully curated album collection. The internet has download speeds of 54 mbps…which means you’re good to go for all your Wi-Fi needs. We do not have traditional cable. We do have a Roku TV so you can log into all your apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu etc etc. We usually keep our YouTube TV logged in for guests to use. BATHROOMS: Enjoy the renovated main bathroom off of the hallway...just because Modern Pines is a classic cabin doesn’t mean we don’t like luxury. Wash the hiking dirt away under the well appointed stand up shower with custom tilework. There's also a full bathroom off of the primary bedroom. DECK: Dining table for four Outdoor couch, chairs and coffee table Stools on the back deck KITCHEN: Dining table sits 4-5 (extra chair is in the primary bedroom) Breakfast bar with two stools 5 burner stove/oven Microwave Nutri-bullet Blender Toaster Coffee Maker / Keureg / Chemex Fully stocked kitchen with pots/pans/dishes/glasses etc etc HOUSE RULES & CAUTION: **By booking you are officially accepting all requirements listed in compliance with AirBNB rules, Riverside County ordinances and house rules** - No smoking indoors or outdoors due to fire hazard - No outdoor fires allowed - Only five (5) persons are allowed, including children - No parties or events. Modern Pines cabin is surrounded by full time residents and we ask that you respect their privacy and space. - All guests will need to observe quiet hours from 10pm to 8am. - No pets allowed. Although we do bring our pets to the cabin occasionally, so if you have an extreme pet allergy – this is not the place for you. - 2 night minimum with 3 and 4 night minimums on major/federal holidays. - Check in is at 3pm and check out is at 11am. Early or late check in and out can be arranged if possible for an additional fee. - Our property has uneven terrain & a partially paved/graveled driveway. For those with balance concerns, or who are unstable on their feet we recommend traversing outside locations with caution. - Modern Pines is surrounded by a National Forest, so you will likely meet a variety of beautiful animals, birds and insects during your visit - including but not limited to coyotes, deer, bobcat, all the birds, squirrels, snakes, spiders, scorpions, earwigs, etc etc. Please respect their environment by not disrupting their natural habitat. Please, no littering. WEATHER: Please check Caltrans for weather conditions. If it's snowing, we will do our best to plow our long driveway for you, upon arrival. The roads into Idyllwild, main roads and road to our cabin are plowed but you still might need 4x4 and/or chains. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: Covid-19 - Our cleaning staff has increased their normally stringent cleaning policies. In addition to our vigilant cleaning, we also sanitize all high touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches, remotes, fridge/stove/cabinet handles etc…While the crew is turning the cabin around, the cabin is opened up to allow the air to vent…so rest assured you’ll have a worry free stay. This is our home away from home, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. This property has a good vibe...and the cabin is well loved. This cabin is super cozy and perfect for a single family or two couples. Everything you see has been thoughtfully curated. We wanted it to feel clean, “cabin-y” but a little modern too.
