It is nestled in the forests of Ibex Valley and is surrounded by mountains and stunning views. Constructed from sawn logs in an authentic Yukon design, it is a cozy home in the mountains with all the amenities. It is close enough to Whitehorse for easy access to the Yukon arts, culture, dining, shopping, and recreation facilities, yet far enough to enjoy the spectacular northern lights (27 km / 17 miles). There are numerous trails in the area for summer and winter activities and the Guest House is located 2 km from Scout Lake. After your days of Yukon adventures, enjoy a BBQ or relax in the Midnight Sun on your private back deck in the summer or enjoy the hot tub, sit by a fire, look at the northern lights, and cozy up for warm conversations and hot beverages in the winter. We offer our guests complimentary (Wi-Fi) internet. The guest house has its own private back deck, propane BBQ, fire pit, and hot tub. The main floor includes a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, full bathroom, large master bedroom (queen bed), and open concept dining and living room. The second floor includes two bedrooms (bedroom 2: one queen and one double bed / bedroom 3: two twin beds), and a den with sofa bed, Smart television, and movie collection. A twin folding bed is also available. The basement includes a ¾ bathroom, washer/dryer, and storage for your outdoor equipment. For those travelling with children, we also offer shared access to the main house playground. The Guest House shares a sunroom with the main house. The guest house is tastefully decorated with a northern decor and furnished with quality furnishings and modern appliances. All bedrooms are furnished with custom built log beds, side tables, dressers and spacious closets. The kitchen is fully equipped for anything a gourmet chef can prepare. The dining table can seat 12 guests and is ideal for family gatherings or workshops. Guests have full access to the entire Guest House (main floor, top floor, basement), laundry (complimentary), private deck, BBQ, and hot tub. The home comes with a basement gear room that offers lots of indoor storage space for your outdoor equipment. Use of the outbuildings on the property can be arranged with your hosts. For those travelling with children, we also offer shared access to the main house playground (adults must be present to supervise children at all time). The Guest House shares a sunroom connected to the main house where your hosts reside but otherwise is an entirely separate home. Your stay will be as private as you would like it to be. Your hosts, Al and Carolyne, will welcome you and answer any questions you may have about the area and facilities and then leave you to enjoy the Guest House and peaceful surroundings. GROUP SIZE: Depending on the composition of your group, the guest house can accommodate groups of 8 to 10 people. However, to ensure that our guests have a comfortable stay, we have limited the instant booking feature to 7 guests.
