Enjoy the ideal location on the beautiful Hamakua Coast, the green side of the Big Island of Hawaii, on our own piece of Paradise. With the views of the Ocean & Mauna Kea mountain from the lanai. The very best views, tho are from your private balcony above the rushing waters of the Makea Stream. We call it a river, as it is 30-50 feet wide, in the wading and swimming holes, below the waterfalls (of course). You could spend your whole vacation here, swimming, hiking, and resting or adventuring. On six acres of farm land, we have a little working/petting farm; with 20+ tame goats, 2 cuddly barn cats, Shadows and Sprinkles, 2 cute around- the- house cats, Lava and Sunny and several chickens, with eggs to gather. We also have a lovey dog, Buddy, a Belgian Shepherd, he will bark at you, the first time; then remember you must be old friends. If you are too friendly he won't leave you alone. Please don't encourage him to jump on you; he is overwhelming to some. And, of course, our two granddaughters who spend occasional weekends with grandma and grandpa; they should be listed with farm animals, I recon. Feel free to collect fruit, in season from our orchard of lychee, mango, avocado, star fruit, bananas, citrus and best melt in your mouth white pineapple ever to be imagined! Your private, separate guest suite, has 3 rooms; a bedroom, bathroom, and a living room/kitchenette. It is off the large lanai, which separates it from the main part of the house, where trade winds coming in from the ocean provide a comfortable breeze; and where the BBQ, with burner, and large dining table with 6 rocking chairs are. The bedroom has a brass queen size bed, ample storage and closet. Your bathroom has shower and washer and dryer. The main room has a sleeper sofa and a loveseat, satellite TV, and a kitchenette, with all new refrigerator, coffee pot, blender, juicer, microwave, hot plate and convection toaster/oven. I have dishes, coffee, tea, paper towels, rice (and a small rice cooker) some spices, condiments and other things to get you started. We are located 11 miles north of Hilo, at the end of the "Scenic Route" where the botanical gardens, and breathtaking Onemea Bay are; and north of Honoli'i beach and surf spot, where Puff the Magic Dragon hangs out. Around us are acres of corn and purple potato fields. With nice side roads for peaceful and scenic walks, you can check out the cliffs and bays of the ocean, right in front of us; as ocean front is public land. Our own road is the back road to the scenic and quaint town of Honomu, with artsty gift stores, ice cream and bakery shops. You will want to drive around to go thru Honomu, and up to Akaka Falls, a brisk hike up and down stairs to a stunning waterfall. We have a list of rules: 1) Sign the Guest Book!!!
