The Grasmere Green is a three-bedroom private unit located on the top two floors of The Scottsville House. Each apartment in The Scottsville House has its own special color theme, and the Grasmere Green is painted a series of greens inspired by vintage Land Rover Defenders found on local farms. The Grasmere Green is conveniently located just off of tiny Scottsville's main street. You'll find the town's coffee shop, brewery, and restaurant directly across the street. The space The Grasmere Green is entered via the rear patio. You'll go up the steps onto your porch and enter into the living room. The kitchen, baths, and heat/air-conditioning are newly installed and freshly tiled, but the building has both the quirks and charm of an almost 200-year-old structure (it was built in the 1830's). The Grasmere Green was originally where the shopkeeper who ran the shop below lived, and history abounds! The living room has a lounging area comprised of a couch, accent chairs, and TV. From the living room, you can go upstairs to the master suite or enter the other spaces. Straight ahead past the living room is the kitchen/dining area. The kitchen features a table for 6, a marble-topped baker's island, a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, sink, blender, microwave, and dishes and cooking implements. The appliances are new, and the counters are stone. There are two bedrooms on the entry-level. One large bedroom features a king bed with memory foam mattress. This bedroom is quite spacious and is adjacent to a newly renovated bathroom with dual sinks, a stone floor, and freshly subway-tiled walls. This bedroom contains a charming but not-functional fireplace. This floor also has a much smaller bedroom with two twin canopy beds. The smaller bedroom is a cute space for children to bunk. It may be a bit "too tight" for two adults. Upstairs is the primary bedroom and bathroom. Both are funky spaces that follow the historic eaves of the building with dormer windows looking out onto Valley Street. The bedroom is spacious, as is the bathroom. The bathroom includes a cast iron soaking tub, dual sinks, and newly tiled shower with a stone slab floor. The floors in the upstairs suite and in the small entry floor bedroom are the original painted wood. Guest access Guests will receive a door code the day of check-in. Tap the lock screen (it takes a moment for it to "wake up"), and then enter your code followed by the unlock symbol at the bottom of the lock. Other things to note Please note: we have a parking area that can accommodate two guest cars for the Grasmere Green. If you are bringing more vehicles than two, street parking is usually very easy and free. We can also arrange offsite parking a few blocks away for additional vehicles if you prefer.
