Blue Quill Cabin is a blissfully peaceful "cabin-in-the-woods", remodeled with large windows to maximize the views of the surrounding grounds and out to the Neversink River. Set on 3 private acres, the cabin's primary bedroom looks out through the trees at the water. Lounging around a crackling fire in the stone fireplace is what it's all about in winter, and napping in the Pine House (the screened-in porch) during the warmer months is sure way to reset and relax. The space The primary bedroom features a queen bed, dresser and pegs on the whitewashed shiplap walls. Leaving windows open in summer to be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the Neversink River is key, but all year you can look out from bed and watch the water tumble along. A sliding door opens to the full bathroom with tiled shower, and it opens into the main room as well. Somewhat steep steps lead to the loft where there is a full and a twin bed. The back of the river stone chimney partially encloses the loft. The kitchen has a generous amount of butcher block countertops, so there is plenty of space for culinary preparations. A Fischer + Paykel fridge, Bertazzoni gas range and LG dishwasher play a strong supporting role. A wall of windows dominates the main room, and offers a contemporary contrast to the rustic stone fireplace. A wonderful chunky farmhouse table is the setting for long meals, but can also serve as a workspace if you must. A nice deep deck wraps around the house, and while the Adirondack chairs facing the lawn are definitely prime hangout spots, sitting on the steps outside the kitchen and looking out at the river sometimes feels like the best spot in the place. The Pine House (the screened building) is nap central. It's like a second living room in summer, with a comfortable West Elm sectional that may lure you out to relax and read your book, but that white noise from the river has the power to lull you to sleep.
