This peaceful private getaway is in the picturesque New England village of Moodus nestled along the Salmon River Cove. It is ideally located 2 hours from Boston and New York. This pet-friendly charming barn loft features large windows with views of the scenic fields and woods. The backyard is fully fenced with a new grill and seating area. The space The loft boasts soaring ceilings with an abundance of natural light creating a tranquil place to unwind. The living space is warm and cozy including a new leather couch, mounted TV, dining table for 4 and books and games to enjoy. The well stocked galley kitchen is fully equipped including a Keurig coffee machine. The bathroom has a shower stall and is located off the kitchen. The loft bedroom is upstairs and features a new supportive, plush comfort queen bed and a TV. Sit outside in the Adirondack chairs while you enjoy the fire pit or shoot some hoops. Other things to note The barn loft is situated on our 30 acre property with a shared driveway that leads up to our home at the very top of the hill, barely visible from the barn. With the exception of our very friendly dog Bella who is known to stroll the property, we stay out of the way of our guests to ensure a private and restful stay. Walk down the driveway and you will be at the beautiful Salmon River Cove where you can take advantage of the dock and admire the many beautiful swans. Take a stroll down our quiet street as you walk along the river. Our town is home is to 3 world class state parks, Machimoodus located less than 5 minutes away, Devils Hopyard, 20 minutes and Gillette’s Castle 15 minutes, all with numerous hiking trails. Feel free to bring your kayaks, boat or jet ski as we are located less than 5 minutes from the Salmon River Boat launch which brings you to the mouth of the Salmon River and the Connecticut River. If you prefer a lake the Upper Moodus Reservoir is nearby and is a great place to boat or fish. It is everything a bass fisherman could ask for. Located nearby is Nichols field Disc Golf Course which is fully carved within the oaks that are in the woods adjacent to the Moodus reservoir. The amenities are top notch and paths are clearly marked. Visit nearby attractions which include the Goodspeed Opera House and the historic East Haddam Swing Bridge.
