Our condo is a mid-century modern, rock-and-roll-nostalgic retreat in a quiet complex near shopping and the airport. Almost all the furnishings and decorative glassware in the home are original midcentury modern pieces--not reproductions but truly from another era--and curated to fit the theme. Our bass drum coffee table is one-of-a-kind, made from an actual drum! The original guitar and vinyl record decor completes the theme. Let Happy Dayz in McAllen take you back to a time when life was good! The space The Happy Dayz condo has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The large master bedroom has a work space and TV/sitting area. The kitchen has a bar that overlooks a spacious living room, game area, and dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped for most cooking needs including dishes, glassware, cookware, bakeware, utensils, coffee, basic spices and cooking oils. In addition, the kitchen has all basic appliances such as a microwave, oven, stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster, blender, chopper and coffee maker. The condo also has a separate TV room or reading room which serves as the entry room. A small patio leads to the garage where the full-sized washer and dryer are. Decor is mid-century-modern and retro rock-and-roll. Please know that our Happy Dayz condo was built in the 1980's. Therefore, it is NOT a smart home, and it is NOT a "green" home. It is also in deep South Texas, where it is always windy. Consequently, the house may get slightly dusty even after it's been cleaned and before the next guests check in. Most large appliances including the AC, refrigerator, water heater, microwave, washer and dryer, and ceiling fans are updated. We are replacing as needed, and so, if you notice that something needs attention or repairing, please let us know. Deep south Texas has a subtropical climate, which means that we have hot summers and mild winters. This also means that pests thrive in deep south Texas. Although we don't have a problem with pests at our Happy Dayz condo, we proactively treat for pests on a regular basis. However, please be aware that pests can never be completely eradicated in deep south Texas. Also, while well-behaved children are always welcome, please know that there are many breakable, decorative items in the home that a toddler could get hold of. Guest access All interior rooms plus a private patio are accessible to guests. The complex's pool and gazebo are not available for short-term guests to use. Other things to note *Happy Dayz is very close to many eateries, to the grocery store, to hike-and-bike trails, a movie theater, and banks. With close access to Expressway 83, Tenth Street and Col. Rowe Blvd., travel to other parts of the area is simple. *Basic supplies are provided at check-in but will not be replenished until after check out. *A digital door code allows easy check-in at any time of day, and the same code will be used for all doors. *Laundry and cleaning supplies are available for guest use. *Board games, puzzles, playing cards, and books are in the built-in shelves in the living room or on the game table. *A computer nook in the master bedroom allows for private workspace. *While well-behaved children are always welcome, please know that there are many breakable, decorative items in the home that a toddler could get hold of. Also, we do not provide cribs, bassinets, highchairs, play pens or other items infants may need. *Washer and dryer are in the garage and are accessible for guests to use; however, parking is on the driveway and NOT in the garage.
