Growing up, I did everything with My Favorite Aunt Shirley, whom took such good and loving care of me, while The Wild Woman was on the road. My Momma and I have always said we are both lucky to have had Shirley! Funny, My Aunt Shirley and I seemed always…in the kitchen; she cooked lovingly, without dread…everyday; Sunday breakfasts are amongst my fondest memories at the table with family complete with hardy laughter and robust conversations and likely why it still is such a joy for me to cook and prepare My Brunch Experiences for my guests—A dedication to My Aunt Shirley! MY SPACE In Reverence To Our Heritage, a celebration of the exceptional women—My Momma, My Auntie, My Mother-In-Law—who have profoundly influenced My Life, my home, a purpose-filled retreat—My guest rooms so named in their honor (Sissy, Shirley & Sanata) are decorated in deep, rich, Afrocentric patterns, prints, textures and color palettes, complemented throughout with African Art—brilliant portraits and wood-carved masks & statues that command my home, striking living room galleria, grand dining/meeting room, comfy-cozy Morning/TV room (as there are no TVs in room), kitchen access, private backyard deck drenched in natural sunlight, outdoor balcony with dreamy sunsets and scenic nightscapes, not to mention, random fireworks displays off the banks of the Potomac River at National Harbor, as well, I offer Themed Brunch/Dinner/Tea Party Experiences (up to 10 guests seated) additional charge by Reservation Only. RESTRICTIONS Although, I love them, too, children (under 13), pets, parties, events, smoking, alcohol, drugs and weapons are not conducive to the rather introspective, calming & restorative surroundings. While intimate affairs of 6-10 guests are offered (at additional charge by reservation only), notably, Maryland law prohibits drinking under the age of 21, use of narcotic drugs and illegal firearms.
