The Cabin at Li'l Bit Ranch - Elk Country

If you're looking for a quiet respite in the beautiful Black Hills, we would love to host your stay at The Cabin at Li'l Bit Ranch. Li'l Bit Ranch, established in 2021, consists of 26 acres, on which the cabin, our home, barn and multiple critters reside. For recreation, we border BH National Forest and SDGF&P lands, and are only a few miles from both ATV trails and the Mickelson Trail. The space This modern yet rustic self-catered cabin is 544 sq ft and was built locally in 2018. We formerly ran a traditional bed & breakfast for 9 years in the community of Hermosa. The newly added cabin was a very popular choice for our guests. When we retired in 2021 and moved near the community of Pringle, we moved The Cabin with us and resided in it ourselves while building our new home. The Cabin includes a bedroom with a queen bed and closet, a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower, and a full kitchen. A comfy full-sized sofa sleeper occupies the living area, allowing the cabin to comfortably accommodate up to 4 people... children age 10 and older are welcome. It is well insulated, with heat and air conditioning. We re-stained the exterior in 2023, and installed all new flooring in 2024. As a self-catered vacation rental, this cabin is fully equipped with dishes, linens, STARTER supply of paper products, and a few kitchen staples. A washer and dryer are also included, along with detergent. Parking is available next to The Cabin along with room to park a trailer. Our Wifi is via a fiber optic cable. The TV is set up for streaming with decent reception. Please note that most folks do NOT have cell service at our property so plan to use Wifi calling. The deck includes chairs and a BBQ grill. It is the perfect spot on early mornings and evenings to hear and possibly view wildlife. Pringle claims to be the "Elk Capitol of South Dakota." While there's never a guarantee, there's always a good chance you'll see or hear elk, along with coyotes, deer, and eagles. After a day of touring the Black Hills, grab a jacket (our nights are usually chilly) and cozy up on the deck… on a clear night you will easily see the Milky Way. Li'l Bit Ranch, in the Spring Valley area, is the epitome of a country property. We are surrounded by public lands and rich history. Feel free to hike and explore the area, right from your front door. Bring your ATVs... trails are only a couple miles away. Or, ride your bikes on the Mickelson Trail, just 3.5 miles from us. We are easy to find and reach.... 3.4 miles of gravel road off of Highway 89, halfway between Custer and Hot Springs. Our large, new barn accommodates our horses and cats. Our hens give us wonderful eggs, and our dogs, well, they're just cute. A couple of notes for our biker guests.... be aware that there are 3.4 miles of gravel road from Hwy 89 to our property, and please, no colors. Children 10 and older are welcome. We are not able to accommodate hunters. Guest access We reside on the same property, about 40 yards from The Cabin. While we do respect your privacy, and expect the same from our guests, we are available to answer any questions. Darcy will do her best to meet you after your arrival. Other than our house, you are most welcome to explore our 26 acre ranch. Other things to note Very few folks have cell service in this area, so plan to use Wifi calling at The Cabin. We are 25 minutes from Custer, and 30 minutes from Hot Springs, with no businesses in between. Plan to get supplies and gas in these 2 communities. We are not able to accommodate hunters.
