Pak Shak Vuda
Pak Shak Vuda is a unique place with a style and charm all of its own. Designed and built by Architect Chris Cole as a prototype for modular sustainable homes for the tropics. Perched on a ridge overlooking Dreketi, Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, it boasts some spectacular views and beautiful sunsets. Conveniently located 15 minutes from Nadi International Airport and mid-way between Nadi and Lautoka, the cabin is well situated for local trekking whilst still being a private retreat. The space This house was designed and built by Australian-Fijian architect, Chris Cole, as his Fiji home. He built it as a prototype for his modular building system, called Pak Shak, and it has been designed to with-stand our tough tropical seasons. Pre-fabricated in the workshop, Pak Shak is an innovative, engineered timber building system, conceived with environmental sustainability and durability in mind. The space is open plan, naturally well ventilated, serene and inviting. Guest access Pak Shak is all yours, and the spaces around are shared by Vuda's thriving community which includes the village of Viseisei, the home of a former President of Fiji, as well as residential homes, resorts, an international marina, and local industry. Sometimes the area around our cabin is quiet, sometimes it's a hive of farming and community. Other things to note Pak Shak sits on a promontory on Nadi bay - looking out to the Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands - and is located conveniently mid way between Nadi and Lautoka.
