Just outside the gates you can walk on a paved path through a preserve featuring scenic views, lava tubes, and ancient Hawaiian fish ponds. As a guest of the Palm Villas, you will have access to the private Mauna Lani Beach Club. Beach Club access includes excellent snorkeling, chaise lounges, restrooms and showers. Private beach parking is also available for guests. Paddle boards, kayaks, and other large beach equipment are available for rent. The beach club also features the Napua restaurant serving lunch and dinner daily. For the avid golfer, the Mauna Lani Resort features two championship golf courses as well as a short course totaling 45 holes. The Shops at Mauna Lani feature several restaurants including Tommy Bahama and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, among others. Gourmet groceries are available at Foodland. Several other specialty stores are also available for your shopping needs. The Big Island has something to offer everyone – whether you would like to relax on a black sand beach, visit Volcano National Park, sip Kona coffee at one of the farms overlooking the ocean, go for a swim with wild dolphins or watch whales playing close to shore in the winter months. Our unit is within walking distance to the beach. The path starts right outside our front gate and goes through the nature preserve and ancient Hawaiian fish ponds. There are plaques along the way describing the scenery and artifacts. Depending upon how much time you take to read the plaques and look around, the walk will take you between 10 and 20 minutes. It is an asphalt path (no cars). As an alternative, you can drive to the beach (about 2 minutes) and park in the private, gated parking lot. We provide a key card for the parking lot. Either way, the beach has nice white sand, chaise lounges and cabanas for your use. The restaurant at the beach has a great view of the ocean and tasty food. Golf The cost for golf varies by time of year and time of day. Fitness Center Yes, you can use the spa and large fitness center. They sell daily and weekly passes.
