Summary: Just off Hwy 45, 30 miles south of Meridian, Clarkco State park is situated on 815 acres of gently rolling woodlands. Campers can participate in many outdoor activities including boating, fishing, and hiking. Explore the 5-mile nature trail and enjoy Ivy Lake, a beautiful body 65-acre body of clear blue water that is a perfect destination for paddlers and anglers. There is a boat launch and Ivy Lake offers good fishing year-round. The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish. Clarkco also features a 9-hole disc golf course and swimming beach. This well-maintained park also has a 4.5 star, "Excellent" rating on Trip Advisor. The Watchtower A campsite is located approximately 1 mile from the park entrance and features a view of Ivy Lake. Your campsite features a 10 x 12 platform tent with a queen bed as well as a pop-up tent that can accommodate 4 additional campers. A picnic table, firepit and two Adirondack chairs are also included. Campers will have access to modern bathhouses for showers and restroom facilities. And, if the temperatures dips, you can keep warm with the propane heater inside the main platform tent. The Space: Ready-to-go camping in a convenient yet unspoiled location near the Mississippi-Alabama state line. Other Things to Note: Check-in is at 3 pm. Beds in the canvas tents have memory foam mattresses but be sure to bring your own bedding, food, and firewood. Pop-up tent comes packed. No running water at this site but a 5-gallon water jug is provided. Anything you pack in, you must pack out. Trash must be thrown away in the designated dumpster at the end of your stay. All sites are inspected for damages and cleanliness after each use and before the next renter. Failure to follow these guidelines can result in a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Please do not feed nor hunt the wildlife. Behaved pets are welcome - we only ask that you clean up after their messes to ensure a pleasant experience for the next camper.
