Live Oaks is situated in Coffin Point Plantation on St. Helena Island, about 30 minutes from Beaufort, SC and 15 minutes from Hunting Island State Park. With a plethora of local historic sites and uncrowded beaches to explore this is the ideal location for history buffs and naturalists alike. The modern architectural style of Live Oaks gives it unique feel, both inside and out. Most of the home is located on ground level which makes the layout suitable for entertaining and handicap accessibility. A primary suite with king size bed, large private bath & ocean view is on the second floor. Both downstairs bedrooms have king size beds; one of which boasts beautiful ocean views. Both ocean view bedrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs) provide our guests with sensational sunrise views. There are two smart flat screen TVs, two DVD players; Wi-Fi is provided. Any chef would enjoy preparing meals in this newly renovated kitchen with its modern stainless-steel appliances, granite counter-tops, and tile floors. Kitchen accessories include dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, baking items, coffee pot, blender, toaster, food processor and toaster oven. There is a charcoal grill and fire pit outside. There is no shortage of outdoor areas to relax and enjoy the views, with a hammock, two patios, and a separate screened in sitting area. Located on St. Helena Sound, the beach is much calmer and shallower, perfect for beach combing, clamming or fishing. Live Oaks offers direct beachfront access on the St. Helena Sound. Coffin Point beach is perfect for clamming, fishing, kayaking and watching the shrimp boats come catch their daily bounty. If you're a bird enthusiast, this is the place for you! Abundant bird life here, enjoy watching ospreys, bald eagles, hummingbirds, painted buntings and other migratory birds during certain times of year. Nearby attractions include the historic Penn Center, the Chapel of Ease ruins, Fort Fremont, the Port Royal Rookery, Hunting Island State Park and many great restaurants. While the beach in front of the home is not ideal for swimming due to oyster beds, spend your days at Hunting Island State Park with one of the best beaches in the area. *We apologize, but the fireplace is not for guest use. Up to two dogs are welcome to join you in this home for an additional $150 pet fee, per pet. Please be advised that this home can accommodate up to 2 vehicles. *Please be advised that there are dirt roads on the Coffin Point Plantation. These roads can get quite soggy during intense rains, but are still passable. As our gift to you for booking with us, we offer free admission to select Sea Islands and Beaufort attractions.
