Thanks for coming to stay in New Orleans! This is a 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom house with a large kitchen and dining room, three sitting rooms, and a backyard patio balcony. The 4 Queen-sized and 1 Full-sized beds sleep 10 guests comfortably. It is located in a quiet neighborhood just north of the French Quarter (a quick 10-15 minute drive) and near City Park. This property is ideal for parties up to 10 guests, ideal for families and larger groups. This is a rebuilt house since Katrina. We have a photo album of the restoration in the living room for your amusement. This house had roughly 5 foot of flooding and was completely taken down to the studs and rebuilt. The house has been completely renovated, new wood flooring throughout, a beautifully-done red-oak staircase. There is ample parking between the driveway and the street. The property has a keyless door entry, we will send you the code the night before or morning of your arrival. You have access to the whole property during your visit: Bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, pantry, dining room, living/great rooms, and both front and back yard. There is a small balcony just off of the upstairs landing area. If we are unable to greet you at the property, please let yourself in and make yourself at home. You will find the guidebook on the coffee table; it has all the info you need to stay in our place. I am usually available and try to greet guests upon arrival whenever possible, and then your privacy is your own after that; our interaction thereafter is dependent on your needs. Please feel free to call us directly if the need for assistance arises or contact us through the Airbnb website. If I am out of town, we will provide you with a back up contact. This neighborhood is quiet along a very spacious street. There are usually no interactions with the neighbors; everyone tends to keep to themselves. They are pleasant if you meet any, but given a few open lots on the street, and most are elderly, you don’t really see anyone. All of these houses were severely flooded by Hurricane Katrina, most have been rebuilt, and there are still a few under construction 12 years later! You can catch an Uber to about anywhere for a reasonable fee. $8-10 should get you to the French Quarter. We are only 2-3 blocks from the bus line on Saint Bernard St. You can see the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority schedules and routes at http://www.norta.com/Maps-Schedules/Overview. RTA also operates the streetcars that run down St. Charles Ave and Canal St. If bicycling is appealing to you, there are several places that rent bicycles. New Orleans has also recently have incorporated public bicycles throughout the city. See https://bluebikesnola.com/. The public bicycle rates are very reasonable at $8/hour, or $15 a month (1 hour per day, $8/hr after), or $20 per year (1 hr per day, $8/hr after). - Please remove shoes while inside the house, all new engineered bamboo wood floors upstairs and the unique red-oak staircase can be easily scratched and damaged. Please be very careful, especially the upstairs wood floors really do scratch easily, please put suitcases and hard/sharp objects on area rugs in the rooms. Lic# 18STR-20852 exp 1/20/2020
