Inspired by the Cherokee's legacy in the Smoky Mountains, we christened our cabin 'Yona Den'— 'yona' translates to 'bear' in Cherokee. This welcoming bear-themed retreat offers easy single-level access, and is located just 6 miles from the Parkway. Enjoy the many amenities offered such as the fire pit, foosball, arcade games, a screened porch with a hot tub, and a snug seating area perfect for relaxation or reading. Yona Den is the ideal backdrop for romantic escapes and family gatherings! Kindly review the entire description and our "Frequently Asked Questions" to ensure Yona Den aligns with your expectations. Please note that check-ins and check-outs are not available on Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Nestled in the Smoky Mountains, Yona Den is a charming log cabin situated on a mountain slope with a paved road and driveway. During summer, lush foliage offers ample privacy, complemented by the screened-in back deck shutters ensuring year-round seclusion for the hot tub. For a deeper glimpse into the cabin ambiance, explore our photos and guest reviews. Additionally, a nearby catch-and-release pond, located a quarter-mile away (note: two steep hills en route), provides a serene escape. Convenient parking is available on the street adjacent to the pond. Key Features: Master Suite: Revel in a romantic ambiance with a king-sized log bed, jetted whirlpool tub, gas fireplace, and a flat-screen Smart TV. The suite offers direct access to the hot tub and ensures privacy with lockable doors. Living Area: Accommodate kids on a queen-sized sofa bed, and unwind on a leather recliner. Entertainment options include a Ms. Pacman/Galaga Arcade, Smart TV access to Netflix, Prime, etc., and a selection of board games, cards, movies, and books. Kitchen: Modern amenities include stainless steel appliances, well-stocked cookware, a gas grill on the screened-in back deck, and essential kitchen gadgets like a crockpot, blender, and waffle maker. Outdoor Amenities: Enjoy a screened porch with a hot tub, fire pit area (guests supply firewood), foosball table, horseshoes, cornhole, and comfortable wicker seating. Safety & Privacy: A surveillance system monitors the driveway and front porch for security, ensuring a safe environment for both the property and your belongings. Additional Information: Accessibility: Yona Den is a single-level cabin with no stairs, though the approach to our home involves navigating two short steep hills. Pets: We welcome one dog weighing under 50 pounds with a $125 fee. Specific rules regarding leashing, crating, and care apply. Pets must be kept off of furniture and bedding. Must be at least on e year old. Sorry, but no puppies, cats, or kittens are permitted. Fireplaces: Gas fireplaces are operational from October 1st to April 1st, subject to seasonal conditions. Location & Surroundings: Yona Den is strategically positioned 5.8 miles from Kroger grocery, 6 miles from the Pigeon Forge Parkway, 10 miles from Dollywood, 14 miles from Gatlinburg, and 15 miles from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park entrance. Frequently Asked Questions: Minimum Age: Guests must be at least 21 years old to book. 18-20 year-olds require host approval. Road Conditions: The Hidden Mountain area features manageable hills; 4WD is unnecessary unless snow is present. Directions: Various routes lead to Yona Den; please follow our recommended routes to ensure a pleasant journey. When you book with Yona Den, you will find my cell and home phone numbers so you can contact me at your convenience. Situated on a street with only three neighboring homes, we enjoy a degree of seclusion. However, neighboring homes on surrounding ridges become visible from our decks during winter when foliage recedes. While we're a mere 14 minutes from the Parkway, our location exudes a genuine mountain ambiance. Trolleys offer a convenient alternative to driving and parking hassles. While the bustling Parkway of Pigeon Forge is just 14 minutes away, our location provides swift access to the Townsend entrance of the Smoky Mountains National Park. This allows you to relish the park's beauty while sidestepping Parkway congestion. However, note that the scenic Foothills Parkway's popularity has increased traffic to Townsend. Along the way, indulge in its breathtaking views and designated stop-off points. Additionally, only a 5-minute drive down Walden's Creek reveals a gas station and pizzeria. Plus, access Kroger and Publix, nearby grocery stores, without navigating the Parkway.
