Come..relax..and rejuvenate at the “Little Cottage In Kea'au” where a touch of zen calms your soul. Just 15 minutes away from Hilo! We all need to get away from all the demands that compounds us in today’s life. Down shift from it all and let the country melt the stress away...yes...you've just found “YOUR HOME” away from home. So relax, breathe in... breathe out... center your peace and start healing... take in ALL what this big beautiful Island can give you... and that my friend, is Aloha... The Little Cottage In Kea'au sits on an acre over looking an open green lawn with surrounding trees such as mango, tangerine, avocado, ti leaves, azalea flowers and beautiful hapu ferns. Fresh fruits, bagels, cream cheese and fresh eggs upon arrival. A roomy memory foam Cal king bed (medium/firm mattress), kitchen and a full bath. Surrounding the acre property is a moss rock wall/fence giving you the privacy of your comfort. Guests will have their own gate to enter and park their vehicle right next to the cottage. We live on the other end of the property so if you need anything or have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Your privacy is very important to us and if assistance is needed, please don’t hesitate to ask. We want your stay as comfortable as possible. Having to work in a medical field for years and being EXTREMELY STRICT ON BEING CLEAN to avoid any cross contamination has set me for life! “ALL” bedding, furniture cover, towels, rugs and runners are stripped and replaced with a second set. All counter tops, light switches, anything with a knobs/handles, shower/tub, floor and etc are disinfected. “A peace of mind that the place will be clean upon your arrival.” We humbly ask that you remove any footwear before entering the home as it is our custom here in the islands. We’ve stayed at an Airbnb once, where certain items were not supplied making it a little frustrating! Running back and forth to the store was not what i'd plan on my vacation. So here at the Little Cottage In Kea’au we provide shampoo/conditioner, body-wash, hand wash, dish soap, laundry detergent and softener, salt/pepper, soy sauce, and seasonings ( I have also provided my own seasoning salt that is great with whatever you’re going to be cooking), coffee/cream, tea, trivia/sugar and Kangen water, bath tissues, extra sheets, and so much more. Things you don't have to worry about, the basics will be there. Just show up and relax! “Now, that to me is a home away from home.” We provide cable, wifi, Netflix, Pandora, coffee maker, large counter oven, induction system hot plate, small microwave, hibachi grill, rice cooker, pots and pans, Kangan drinking water, cooler/ice packs, measuring cup/spoons, pen/note pad, first aid kit, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, emergency information folder, full size refrigerator, dishes, utensils, knives, cutting board, pizza cutter, grader, wine opener, scissors, tongs, strainer, peeler, electric can opener, spatula, ladles, mixing bowls, towels (bath, hand, wash and beach), iron/ board, hangers, washer/dryer, beach chairs, yoga mats, and pamphlets of Big Island things to do. Where to go? Where to eat? Need something? Places you must see? Please feel free to ask Clay or Lynn! If there is something that you are not happy with please inform us so we can solve the issue to make your stay pleasant as can be. The Little Cottage In Kea'au is located in Hawaiian Paradise Park which is 1 acre agriculture lots on the east country side. Across the street is an anthurium farm. The neighborhood is very quiet and the houses are well spaced out. Side neighbor does have chickens and they do crow in the morning. Remember, this is the country side... You will need to rent a vehicle to get around on the Island of Hawai'i. Places are not that close but the traffic here is not bad so it won't take you long to get to your nearest grocery store or to fill up gas. Going to Hilo town /airport will take you about 15 minutes. • Here and all over the Big Island of Hawaii we have an invasive species called the Coqui Frog and making its way through the island chain. These tree frogs will be heard at night with a distinctive “Kō-kee” vocalization (I wonder how it got its name...lol). But, I have to admit they sound really soothing at night almost like birds singing in a forest. So if you are a light sleeper you might want to supply some earplugs or put on some white noise... • This new Cal king MEDIUM/FIRM memory foam mattress is made to mode to your form giving you the comfort while you sleep. Unfortunately we all have our preferences on beds so we had to find a happy medium and asked the professionals what would be the best mattress to accommodate both soft and firm sleepers. • Makuu Market is our biggest open market here on the Hilo side of the island. Local venders selling fruits, vegetables, hand crafted items, so many different food stands to choose from, beautiful flowers, lomi lomi massages and more! • Gate should be closed and latched at all times to insure the safety of the animals. We are soon to be placing an automatic gate opener for guests. We have animals (sheep, dogs, a potbelly pig and chickens/chicks) on the property and if you are not comfortable with them roaming the property, there is no problem, we can certainly contain them. We ask that you do not feed the animals table food due to being on certain diets.
