Upon entering the house you'll be delighted by the unique front door and know you have arrived somewhere special. The first room to the left you will enjoy the library with a diverse collection of books, a large dining table and a bar for afternoon cocktails. Open the pocket doors and you will be in the parlor with one of seven fireplaces that are original to the house. Parlors are quintessential to Charleston homes for entertaining or afternoon tea. Down the hall you will find a powder room, followed by a quaint kitchen, equipped with a dainty retro fridge, induction cooktop, kettle, toaster oven, and a 1940s era french sink. Enjoy your meals at the table for two while the sunlight filters in through the shaded garden walkway. Across the hall is room No. 6 with a king bed and a place to hang your clothes in the rosy glow of the modern lamps. Positioned in the center of the house, this room is quiet and relaxing. To freshen up, you will have your choice of a full bath appointed with a vintage claw foot tub across the hall or to the right there is a second bathroom with a shower. At the end of the hall sits bedroom No. 8 that we refer to as the Garden Room. Cozy with a full sized bed, a shower, vanity, and fireplace. You will have access to a small covered porch that enters into the enchanting and secluded garden. If visiting in the winter, don't forget to pick off some oranges from our tree shading the garden for your morning juice or cocktail. Lets go upstairs as we pass a reading nook with a love seat tucked away at the bottom of the staircase. At the top and to the right you'll see room No. 4 with two queen beds and a fireplace. The large windows and elegant blue ceiling give this room a calming ambience. Next door there's a marbled floor bathroom with 1920s patina clawfoot tub to soak or shower. This lovely bathroom is perfect for primping at the large vanity and vintage stool. Room No. 2 has twin beds and an exposed brick wall to ceiling fireplace, bringing warmth into this welcoming room for two. Both of these rooms have access to the enclosed porch that travels the length of the building with a bench to sit and relax. Take the back door down to the garden but be careful on the outdoor stairway. This house boasts two kitchens and the second one is upstairs, a galley featuring a full size fridge, retro apartment stove, dishwasher, and open shelving nestled on the exposed brick original to the home. There's bar seating around an industrial island, perfect for entertaining as the kitchen opens into a comfortable den with another fireplace. Through the french doors you'll find the largest and most elegant bedroom in the house. A king bed with a velvet settee at the foot, facing a fireplace. This room boasts storage for a long stay in the chifforobe and a lovely vanity. Glass doors open up onto a sleeping porch overlooking Society st. perfect for afternoon naps or enjoying Charleston's breezy evenings and the smell of magnolias. You'll find everything you need to relax and feel at home. The "Ginger Lily" has been thoughtfully furnished with eclectic vintage pieces, funky artwork, and a collective of plants in neat pots throughout this home adding to this perfect Charleston getaway.
