A side gable antique home in North Eastham built before 1900 when the area was filled with asparagus farms. The first thing you’ll notice are the beautiful roses and dogwood trees along the picket fence out front. You'll step inside into a large kitchen with all of the amenities (microwave, coffee pot, gas stove, blender, toaster, lobster pot, and more--no dishwasher though!). Off of the kitchen is a full bath with a deep clawfoot tub (with a shower). The washer and dryer are stacked right outside the bathroom next to the door leading to the large backyard. Also downstairs is a dining room that seats six, a comfortable living room with a flat-screen Amazon Fire TV with cable, and a sliding barn door into a large bedroom with a brand new queen bed. There is a rollaway twin bed under the queen that can also be used in the room. Note: the downstairs bedroom is separated from the living room by a wall that stops about a foot before the ceiling (for airflow). Upstairs you'll find a den at the top of the stairs with a futon that opens to a full-size bed and another tv with an Amazon fire stick. Off of the den are two bedrooms—one with a full-size bed, and the other with a twin, and a twin trundle. There are brand new mini-splits (Winter 2020) to cool and heat the house and fans in each bedroom. The house sits on Massasoit Road—a main road that runs from Route 6 in Eastham, behind the Wellfleet Drive-In and back out to Route 6 in Wellfleet. Being able to get to Wellfleet without getting on Route 6 is great! While the front of the house sits on a main road—the quarter acre in the back is quiet and filled with flowering trees, birdhouses, and lined with a thicket of trees along one sides. There are Adirondack chairs around a lovely stone fire pit, a large outdoor table, and a gas grill. There is also a wonderful outdoor shower with plenty of hot water and a double hammock off in a quiet corner of the yard. The location can't be beat: .8 miles to Cooks Brooks Beach—a bay beach with awesome sandbars and the most beautiful sunsets. It's under five minutes by bike! Campground Beach (also bay side) is 1.2 miles, and just a little further is Wiley Park at Great Pond, a sandy-bottomed kettle pond with a roped-off swimming area. Nauset Light and Coast Guard Beach are just under three miles to reach and part of the National Seashore ocean beaches. The Orleans rotary and a Stop and Shop are less than a ten-minute drive, or head in the other direction for the 25-minute ride to Provincetown. In the mornings, walk down Massasoit—15 minutes for coffee and hand-cut donuts at the Hole in One, and at the end of the day, grill local seafood from Mac's out back or get take-out from one of the great seafood spots along Route 6. The house has parking for several cars on a crushed shell driveway. Saturday to Saturday rentals, seven-night minimum during peak season. Pets are considered, please reach out and we can discuss. *This is an antique home and the exposed beam ceiling in the living room doesn't offer much soundproofing between floors.
