Walking is doable but not recommended since we are 1/2 mile from historic route 66 and a lot of walking would be required along the main busy road. Houses have portable AC units in all the bedrooms but kitchen/living/common areas do not have central AC. This is very normal for Flagstaff, temperatures rarely necessitate central AC. It is safe to open windows and let the beautiful mountain air in.
