Durango is also popular for outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, road biking, backpacking, slacklining, rock climbing, hunting, off-roading, year-round fishing, and golfing. A visit to Durango would not be complete without a ride on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, with stunning mountain scenery and an education on the area's mining history. The Durango Resort offers apartment-style accommodation with fully equipped kitchens, a fitness center and two outdoor hot tubs with breathtaking mountain views. The resort assigns the specific unit around the time of check-in so your view may vary. The resort will be experiencing nearby construction directly across the street from May 2023 - Nov. 2023. For the entire construction period, there will be a one-lane closure to the main road leading to the resort and a full closure periodically.
