The Coors Brewery at 13th Avenue and Ford Street in Golden, Colorado provides tours and samples Monday – Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The brewery was opened in 1873 by a 26–year–old named Adolph Coors; today it is the nations third largest single brewing site in the world. Boulder is home to Colorado's state university, nicknamed the Buffaloes. Founded in 1876, the campus has remained in one place, growing from a single building now called "Old Main" to its current 786 acres. The Flatirons–;a series of uplifts in the foothills of Boulder–provide a stunning backdrop to one of the most beautiful college campuses in the nation. Downtown Boulder boasts an extensive collection of restaurants, ranging from casual brewpubs to fine French cuisine, and pedestrian–friendly shopping along Pearl Street. Meander for a while, duck into a gallery or two and then enjoy a leisurely meal of Creole, Nepalese, Caribbean, Asian or whatever else you're in the mood for. The scenic route into Estes Park is the Peak–to–Peak Highway, a 55–mile byway starting at Central City just off I–70 to the south and running north along Routes 119, 72 and 7. This drive will lead you to high country lakes, through small mountain towns and across the continental divide. You've reached an altitude of 7,500 feet in Estes Park. This high mountain valley is the gateway to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Granite summits tower over broad green landscapes, and a few roads inside the park beckon adventuresome drivers.
