Our kayaks are equipped with stabilizers which we install on request. Experienced kayakers please take note . We will gladly transport the kayaks to and from the launch sites $20.00 charge. We provide life jackets. Guided kayak tours can be booked through "Assateague Adventures" or through Airbnb for $55.00 per person, We offer a $5.00 discount if booking in person. Dates and time must be specified when booking in order to reserve your spot. We do offer a professional guided kayak tour of Chincoteague Island. The following tour is only offered directly through us. We take people in kayaks around the island with a stop at a private beach and a stop at Ropewalk. Reservations need be made at time of booking. Tour includes time on a private beach, gathering of mussels, crabbing, exploring, bird watching, observing NASA launch pad from the bay, dolphin watching as they swim along side the kayaks. Your tour will tirelessly take you along side miles of shore line. Our motors will gently push you through the water as you enjoy seeing beautiful costal homes and passing fishing boats.Your guide will explain everything along the way. Bottled water will be provided. Bring sun screen . Cost is $109 per person. We can only accommodate 2 people at time because we want it to be a personnel experience. Sunset tours are popular! We do offer a continual breakfast that includes bagels, muffins, fresh baked buns, banana nut bread, organic Greek yogurt, fruit ( strawberries, mango and blueberries etc} granola, strawberry and cherry jam, cream cheese, orange juice, organic coffee and tea (available all day), hard boiled eggs and buckwheat pancakes. Guests will be given the opportunity to arrange a specific time to have the kitchen to themselves. Also, a period of time can be set aside for guests to enjoy the entire house. We will be glad to take guests on a tour of our wonderful island and Assateague. Guests will be allowed to use our washer and dryer. Presently we do not have a handicap entrance but will be striving to accommodate with a ramp as soon as possible. We are centrally located on a private quiet residential lane, but we are in close proximity to all that the island has to offer. The historical town of Chincoteague with its quaint shops will give you the feeling that you have gone back in time. We are minutes from the Chincoteague wildlife refuge and the beach. Clamming rakes, crabbing nets are provided, fishing [2 poles provided] and beautiful sunsets. There is much to enjoy here on this beautiful land across the water. Our town offers walking trails for pets on leashes. We would gladly give our guests as much space as possible but we are here to help you and make any recommendations for restaurants and things to do! Quiet neighborhood. All homes [5]are well maintained. Our lane offers the opportunity for a quiet evening walk because it is a non through lane. A specular yet calming view of horses located across the lane that can be seen from the screened in porch. Private bedroom with bath. Also available is a bedroom with 4 bunk beds and bedroom with a full size bed and a bunk on top. There is a private bathroom that is located off of the hallway if you are in either of these rooms. During the warmer months, the town provides a free trolley service. With the bikes that we provide, you can tour the island as well as shop[ please note that many shops are closed during the off season] and/or enjoy a meal at one the many wonderful restaurants within minutes. There is ample parking at the beach and also parking available in the historic downtown area. Please NOTE: No animals are allowed on Assateague when visiting the beach or kept in the car. If bringing dogs there are several trails to exercise them. No pets will be allowed to be left unattended in our home or in the fenced-in play area unless arrangements can be made before hand. We do keep our pets here and supervising your pet is advisable. We can also arrange for pet sitting. NASA launch (Antares) which resupplies the international space station. Please note: NASA, with justified cause, has cancelled launch's in the past and may do so in the future. We have searched the globe for the very best organic free trade coffee and have come up with a clear winner. Enjoy this fantastic coffee in you very own hammock on the front porch while watching horses graze We have two dogs inside that are small and very friendly. There is also our collie in the back yard and our cat, which spends most if his time outside,occasionally will be awake during the day. We are pet friendly but please do abide by our pet policies as follows: PET POLICIES: We allow dogs only 40 lbs. and under. Please inform us if bringing a pet. Pet fees are 15 dollars for each pet. Payment is due at check in. Please do not leave the house without crating your pet if you plan to go out for a few hours. Perhaps they can remain in the fenced in yard if they get along with our dogs and try not to escape the fenced in area Pets are not allowed on the beach here. There are beaches that allow pets off of the island within an hour if you desire to travel to them. We will not be responsible for pets unattended. Please bring your pet its own clean bed. Pets must be treated for fleas and ticks. If your dog would do any damage we will ask that the damage be repaired or paid for by you.
