The space Our 1300 square foot home in North Berkeley features two bedrooms and a full bath in the main house, and a back studio with a full bath that has a queen size bed (new mattress) plus an available single futon. Backyard garden has a full-sized hot tub, a grill and picnic table.Ample off-street parking . And---and one friendly cat! Dog Friendly. Feel free to bring your dog if it is well trained and friendly. The house has a bedroom with a king-size bed, and another with a full/double bed . Internet, cable (premium), big screen HD TV, large, recently re-modeled kitchen and bathroom, and very friendly and helpful neighbors. We are in walking distance of a number of Berkeley favorites including Acme Bread, Kermit-Lynch wine store, Cafe Leila and Barteveille cafe (Cali-French), Tokyo Fish (best Japanese market in the East Bay), REI. And a Whole Foods just opened 3 blocks away. Very walkable neighborhood. We take our dog out every night around 10 pm and feel perfectly safe. We are a 15-20 minute drive to downtown San Francisco with no traffic. Also a 15-minute walk to the nearest BART station (subway)--or a 2-minute drive. The reason we have lived in this house for 24 years? The neighbors and neighborhood. We love our house of course, but we got great neighbors. They are friendly and helpful, and we will make sure whoever rents this house gets connected to a few in case they need help or just want to know where to buy a bagel. This is our home, so you will be enjoying our knick-nacks, photos, books, etc. You are welcome to use the house as we do---feel free to use the fully stocked kitchen (lots of spices, condiments, etc will be there) and more. Guest access No restrictions. We generally lock up our valuables in a back room. Nothing personal of course, but it is recommended as a general rule. Other things to note The house has basic essentials---clean sheets, towels, laundry (and detergent!), shampoo and an excellent selection of cooking equipment including herbs, spices, condiments, oils, etc. We love to cook and our guest are welcome to make use of our extensive pantry. Also, the price includes the 12% occupancy tax we are required to collect for the City of Berkeley.
