During the day the scenic views of the Channel, lighthouse and marshland will delight as you watch shore and seabirds forage and Assateague ponies in the distance. Bring your binoculars or zoom camera for some spectacular photos. You're less than 100 yards to your own private dock for fishing, crabbing or just whiling away the hours in relaxation with a cool drink in hand. In the evening, just as the sun goes down, the Assateague lighthouse sparks to life, with views from the front porch. Hopkins House is just a short distance from the public boat ramp, Memorial Park, a restaurant and more! Try out the NEW water park with the kids too, just a bit over a mile from the house. Additional amenities include: one (1) queen and five (5) single beds (bed space for seven, although others may use the couches if desired), private dock/boat-slip, washer and dryer, pets allowed (dogs, cats, rabbits, gerbils, birds) -$40 cleaning fee not taken by Airbnb (see Additional Rules), outside shower, waterfront with dock, walking distance to east side boat ramp, one mile to Memorial Park, three miles to Assateague National Park, gas range, refrigerator, dishwasher, central air conditioning, oil furnace heat, back deck, outdoor charcoal grills (2), picnic table, on-site parking for at least three vehicles. Internet and Silver cable provided. PLEASE NOTE: We have chosen NOT to provide bedsheets, pillow covers or bathroom towels/soap as we feel it is far more Hygienic to use your own. Pillows and TP (first roll) are provided. We DO have a loaner set of both towels and bed sheets for ALL beds ... so if you forget to bring them, please just ask us. We are happy to loan a set free of charge. NEW: Two tandems and one single kayak, life vests and oars are available - just knock on the cottage next door - we rent for a small daily fee. We, the owners of Hopkin's House, live right next door in the cottage and are happy to help out with any items you may have forgotten, or just answer any of your questions about the home or property. We have some chickens on the property and rooster too. They are cooped up most of the time, but we let them out once/twice a day ... they eat the mosquitos ... which is a GREAT thing. We have much fewer bugs with them around. The island is easy to walk or bicycle around on. You are about a mile walk to Main Street downtown and a similar mile walk to the local Memorial park, playground. Etta's restaurant is about 6 tenths of a mile walk too. We are a few hundred yards from the bus stop for the town. If you don't want to take your car, just walk a short distance and grab the bus. $0.25 a ride, takes you around the island to the bus stops.
