A solid wall of glass sliders across the front opens onto a large deck area with stainless steel cable railing that allows for amazing views of the lake and surrounding mountains. There are 4 bedrooms in the house (2 king beds downstairs, 2 queen beds upstairs). There are 2 twin beds in the detached Boat House but with no heat source, it is suitable for summer use only. There is a Sundance hot tub that seats four. There is plenty of room to lay out on the dock, sit and enjoy a beverage, or fish. This is a vintage 1947 cabin makeover that captures the essence of early McCall and combines it with the flavor of today. A tasteful mix of old with new makes for a delightful summer getaway or winter hideout. Furnishings combine the original bamboo period pieces with contemporary European ones for the best in comfort. The kitchen has new appliances (including a commercial Viking cooktop), a farm sink, and a large butcher block island that seats 6 (great for indoor brunches and light dining). A modern office in the back has DSL wireless, and lots of workspace. There are 2 flat screen televisions, one in the living room, one in one of the king size bdrms. Earthy interior details include a radiant heated floor, a cozy gas fireplace, Mr Steam shower for two, and the original 'combed plywood' kitchen cabinets and wall treatments. A large upper deck opens from the living room and the views are spectacular. Views of the sunrise and sunset are breathtaking. The colors that spread across the mountains and across the lake are endless. Bring your camera for some great photos. Walk outdoors from the lower covered deck area which opens directly onto the sandy beach just 10' from the water. This deck is perfect for being outside while you watch the kids playing on the beach. Or just gather together for a hand of cards without the sunburn - guaranteed!! Bring your own boat and toys, or rent them from Cheap Thrills. The large private dock is perfect! Dine on either of the 2 decks or on the covered side porch. Guests have beach and dock access as well as access to the large wooded area behind the house. There is a seasonal stream that tumbles down the terrain along one side of the property. The worms washed down to the lake make for excellent fishing from the dock. Open the office and bedroom windows upstairs and you can listen to the sound of the running water. The neighborhood is in the unincorporated area of McCall. A long private lane leads you to the house and lakefront well away from any traffic noise. There are neighbors on both sides but not behind the house. Being on the west side of the lake you get great morning sun with cooler afternoons. Gorgeous lake views summer, fall, winter, springtime! House is located on the west side of the lake about one mile N on Warren Wagon Road (from Lake St/Hwy 55). Only 5 minutes by car (or even faster if you go by boat), only 15 minutes to Brundage Ski Resort. The city center is visible from the house. You can easily boat, bicycle, or hike to town. There is a bike trail a short distance from the house & you can bike from there all the way around the lake or access the many trails in Bear Basin just across the street. Maps are provided in the house. There are great restaurants, several hot springs, and excellent golf courses from which to choose. Winter allows for great snowmobile forays, or if you're inclined to ice-skating, the Manchester Ice Rink is a delight, or better yet, make your own private rink right in front of the house. Also not far away is The Activity Barn which offers tubing and an escalator which takes you up to the top of the hill. Snowboarding and skiing in the winter is only 15 minutes away at Brundage Ski Resort! Cross country skiing on groomed trails is available at Ponderosa State Park. There are many hot springs nearby, but our favorite is Bergdorf Hot Springs. Bergdorf is accessible in the winter by snowmobile only (rentals are available in town), but during the warmer months, you get there by car.
