Let our family cottage be your home away! Located on a quiet street 100 ft from Spring Lake, it has everything you need for a peaceful stay. Watch the sunset from our private lake dock, enjoy a bonfire in the backyard, or visit nearby Lake Michigan beach for the day. Please note, guests are expected to read and honor all House Rules. No smoking, pets, parties, or unauthorized visitors. We require photo IDs at the time of booking. For sleeping areas: we have two bedrooms and an additional, enclosed loft space. Each of the rooms have a queen bed, outfitted with plush mattresses and memory foam toppers, down alternative pillows, and down alternative comforters and/or light quilts. All of our bedding is washable or with a washable cover, and every piece of bedding a guest touches is washed between each stay. The loft area: steep steps bring you to a loft with an enclosed room for privacy (the third sleeping area of the cottage). There, you can fall asleep gazing at the stars through the skylights in this room! Please note, these stairs are not suitable for children and should be climbed carefully. This area can get quite warm in the summer months, but we have a downstairs window AC unit that cools the loft area well. We also provide extra fans and heaters to be used as needed. For entertainment, we have plenty of board and yard games, beach accessories, smart TVs, and more. We have kayaks (several adult kayaks and one child's), and two adult bikes available. We have an assortment of life jackets but cannot guarantee correct sizes. We do not provide helmets for the bikes, so please bring your own. Please also note that a separate liability agreement must be signed for use of kayaks and bikes. Our kitchen is stocked by our own family members who love to cook and hate to have to buy essentials while on vacation, so please take advantage of our many pots/pans, serving utensils, dishes, glasses, mugs, etc., in addition to oils, spices, and some condiments. Inside, we have a gas stove, microwave, Keurig, and dishwasher. Outside, we have a charcoal grill, which is particularly fun in the summer! The bathroom includes a spacious granite countertop with a recently-updated vanity, bathtub/shower with rain head faucet. The backyard has a large fire pit area with benches. There is also an enchanting outdoor dining set with outdoor bistro lights strung above. Yard games are available in the back shed as well. Guests will have full access of our cottage and the private dock we have on Spring Lake, approximately 120 feet from the cottage. Guests may also access the public lake access at the end of the road or at any other public access point in the area. Guests may bring two vehicles to the cottage, both of which must be parked in the carport and off the street, per City rules. Just a phone call or message away at any time! Enjoy breakfast at the best place in the area (Pine Street Cafe) is just across the bridge. Reef Convenient Store (alcohol, beverages, light snacks and minimal supplies) is just a block away. Have a boat? There are several marinas within minutes, one of which is less than a mile away. Watch a beautiful sunset out the front windows, on your private porch bench, or on a bench open to the public at the lake access site at the end of the street. Two parking spots are available in the carport attached to the cottage. We also have several adult bikes available for guests' use (with a signed liability agreement). Many places in the area are walkable, otherwise driving or getting an Uber are always an option at well.
