The property is a cozy remodeled 1920’s farmhouse. It has all of the amenities of home and is blocks from Clear Lake, downtown Clear Lake and The Surf Ballroom. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. It is ideal for adults and children over 7 and the home features a blend of midcentury modern and modern furnishings. It has fireplaces in the living room and in the master bedroom. The downstairs bathroom boasts a triangular soaking tub/shower combo and the upstairs master bathroom has a shower. This house has been remodeled from the very neglected 1920’s farmhouse that it originally was. It is positioned on a beautiful tree lined street with friendly neighbors and is about a 10 minute walk to all of the attractions that Clear Lake boasts including the lake, downtown, and The Surf Ballroom. Other than my visits it was my intention to provide a homey, beautiful, unique, comfortable and inviting space to those visiting the beautiful Clear Lake area. When I looked to rent an AIRBNB while visiting the area before purchasing my property I noticed there were no options with the esthetic I enjoy and I know many others do as well. I hope you enjoy your stay! Guests have access to the whole house except the basement. I live in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area but I grew up in the Clear Lake area and most of my family still lives there. I am always available by phone but my family live within a couple of miles of the house and will also be available as a resource or if a problem occurs. Someone can meet you at the property to show you around and answer any questions you may have about your stay or on the day of check in you will be provided a code for the key lockbox, the choice is up to you. The house is located within blocks of everything including the lake, restaurants, downtown, grocery stores, The Surf Ballroom and anything else you may need. It is on a quiet tree lined street that can be admired from the fantastic deck. The neighbors are friendly and welcoming. There is ample parking on the street twenty feet from the front door but everything you may need is within walking distance in this beautiful vacation community. One dog is allowed per visit and there is a $150 non refundable fee for the stay. We have heightened our cleaning protocol to include not just cleaning but disinfecting as well. The property is decorated and instrumented with attention to detail. It is full of personality and unique touches as well as everything you will need for your visits to the lake including a beach blankets, towels, coolers, and umbrellas. The first floor consists of the first bedroom/office area with an xl twin futon as well as the main living space including the first bathroom with a shower and soaking tub and the kitchen, dining, and living room with a 55 inch tv. The first floor also boasts a very large deck with a gas to coal grill and many seating options, is fantastic for entertaining. The upstairs consists of the master bedroom with a queen bed and master bath with shower as well as a very good sized 3rd bedroom also with a queen bed. It has a second deck off of the bedrooms that you can enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. **************This house is not childproof. There are sharp corners on furniture, there are no safety electrical plugs, cupboard locks and/or children’s amenities or toys. For your child’s safety, I cannot recommend that children under 6 stay. **************The stairs leading to the second floor are on the steeper side so please keep this in mind while considering the property for your stay. The couch does NOT pull out into a bed. ***********I have a cat that has now visited with me. The house is professionally cleaned every time I or a guest stays but if someone has allergies to cats please do not book this house- I cannot guarantee that you will not have an adverse allergic reaction since I am told there is no way to clean a house removing ALL traces of a cat. This house is not comfortable for more than 4 adults. There is no smoking ANYWHERE on the property, inside or out. Please be respectful of this rule, you will be fined up to $500 if there is any evidence of smoking on the property. There are exterior cameras for security. Please note that Iowa is known for frequent poor weather and please consider this before booking a stay as there are no refunds given due to weather, I will however in these circumstances try to reschedule your stay at a different time that is available if you’d like. If you choose the non refundable option during booking and have to cancel, then the reservation IS NOT refundable.
