Historic District -Modern Comfort - Walk to Plaza
Walk to the Plaza, galleries, and the many festivals at Kit Carson park. Located in the heart of majestic Taos - a few doors down from the Mabel Dodge Lujan home on beautiful Morada Lane, this 2 bedroom 1 bath is a peaceful / fun place to stay within the historic district. Upstairs fully furnished in the Historic District. Quiet 2 bedroom overlooking Kit Carson Park and the area. Be a part of the neighborhood - walking distance to everything. This is not rustic or roughing it, more like a modern loft This is the as close to the pulse of Taos as you can get in the town. The place comfortably fits four to six - so it's probably ideal for a couple or two couples traveling together. The back entrance to Kit Carson Park is seconds away. Watch a baseball game or hear live music from the deck weeknights in the summer, go for a morning run, or just stroll to the cemetery. WiFi and HBO. Well since the coronavirus pandemic it will be a lot quieter. But places are open, and facemasks are required in the state of New Mexico. We clean with Clorox, and at this time do not feel comfortable using completely natural products. Please know the utmost precaution will be taken for your safety. We will be only at 25% occupancy and have 48 hours between reservations. All un-necessary items such as throw pillows have been removed, all linens including comforters are replaced for your stay. We also have wonderful fast Internet if you have to work from home. Updated new modem Comcast/Xfinity. This is a separate apartment - two bedrooms and the sofa in the living room pulls out into a bed - Parking is tight in the area there is only space for one vehicle. Parking for the upstairs is right beside the staircase under the chile ristra. There is a free parking lot at the end of the street for an additional vehicle if needed. There is absolutely no curbside parking as there are no curbs - this lane was created for horses and is narrow. As a traveler myself, I tried to create the place I would want to rent anywhere. Hopefully tastefully appointed, clean, functional, and without clutter. Quiet and relaxing. The upstairs is completely separate apartment and has been called a well appointed treehouse. There aren't a lot of two-story buildings around though- we live just minutes away should you need anything. There is a lockbox for keys. This neighborhood is steeped with history and interesting characters. It is also very beautiful and the home is perfect for those who want to spend some time away from it all (or not there is wireless internet!) The space is also perfect for someone who wants time to think, write a dissertation or escape the pace of modern life for a while. I find minimalistic decoration is the best backdrop to focus on whatever is important at the moment. Have coffee or do yoga in the living room at sunrise or watch the sunset from the back porch with a glass of wine. All modern conveniences in a very historic area - warm and cozy in the winter, breezy and cool in the summer. There are many ways to get around - walking is the best, there is a shuttle to the Ski Area that picks up at the park and the RTD Blue Bus But due to Covid public transportation may be limited please double check their website. Not too many Taxi Cabs though. But there are a few Uber drivers now too. With some planning you could leave the car and get anywhere during hours of operation for busses and shuttles. Walking around the area, head to the plaza or just observe from above on the front or back deck. If you enjoy being a part of where you go and living like a local this is your place. Modern conveniences in the historic district. The next door neighbors have two barky chihuahuas - they can be annoying but harmless. This is a very old lane and there is no curbside parking because there is no such thing as a curb. We have one designated parking space for our guests.
