We call our home the lighthouse because of how tall and beautifully lit up it is at night. It's our haven, and hopefully yours as well. As you drive down our dead end street you will see rural properties, many trees, and on a clear day, Mt Adams peaking behind our home. We are close to the city but not in it, only 8 minutes from downtown shopping and restaurants but also near all of Hood River's wineries and trails. It is peaceful here. Why not skip the banging hotel doors, packed parking lots, highway noise, passing trains, etc. that are part of staying in town? Your lodging is a studio with windows on three sides, located on the ground floor (not a basement) with a private entrance and private bathroom. You never have to move through someone else's living space. The large open room includes a couch, dining table with two chairs, a wet bar with mini-fridge, and other amenities. There are beautiful views of woods to the north. Your space is warmed by radiant heat from the floor. There are no cold spots anywhere. Feet love it. Guests said it was "so cozy" and "just right". Feet aside, radiant heat is far healthier than blown hot air. We hope you enjoy this feature of our home in the cooler months. The ceilings above you are insulated with double layers of drywall and professional sound deadening material, in a deliberate effort to gift you with a quiet and relaxing environment. We do still have neighbors, but they respect quiet hours. There are many birds in the abundant trees all around us. You will hear bird song and an occasional rooster in the morning hours. We kind of like that. What makes us stand out from other Airbnbs in Hood River? This is a bulleted list of information you mostly already received above. * Exceptionally quiet rest. We are on a dead-end street with almost no traffic. We are not a multi-unit Airbnb. We offer only two studios on opposite sides of our home from one another. Sound deadening measures have been built in to give you quiet and privacy during your stay. There will be no loud slamming doors in the morning, parking lot noise and car alarms, stomping footsteps, or yelling children. This is a wonderful thing if you love your sleep. * Completely private entry, lodging, and bathroom. * Well insulated new construction with heated floors and abundant sunlight. * Mount Hood and Adams can be seen from our property on clear days. You will enjoy the pretty drive through the rural west side of Hood River as you approach us. * Bikes are welcome! Also, with advance warning (preferably when you first book with us) we can accommodate more than one vehicle. For traveling RV and Motorhome owners who wish to stay in our Airbnb, we have parking with full hook ups and privacy. You may enter through your private entrance directly into the studio. We are available at any time if you need assistance during your stay. Its nice to be "in town." But we offer something different. The best way to get to our home is to approach us on the scenic Country Club road where you will drive by wineries, grazing horses, lush green properties, and see incredible views of hills and mountains in all four directions of the compass. We believe our location is ideal because we have a central location between downtown Hood River's shopping and restaurants, wineries, and outdoor activities in a dozen varieties. You know where the town is. You'll still be close to it. But if you want to experience more of the "special" of Hood River, come out of the city a little bit. Find our quiet street and stay with us. Recreation facts: We are an ideal launch spot for : Mountain biking (ride from your doorstep) Rafting Skiing Hiking Winery touring (several within walking distance) RV and motorhome parking More details: At 2.5 miles away, we are one of the closest stays to the Post Canyon staging area for world class mountain biking. We welcome bike riders and electric bikes of all kinds! You can wash your bikes here. We are centrally located to approximately a dozen wineries. Search "map Hood River wineries". We are located in the middle of all those wineries at 750' of elevation. Guests have walked or biked to wineries around our home. Ask about shuttling. We are 42 minutes from Mt. Hood Meadows ski resort and 10 minutes from downtown Hood River and the event sites. Your lodging with us is on the western and more rural side of Hood River. The area features many vineyards, orchards, and beautiful views of both Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams as well as the surrounding hills. Your stay here allows you to enjoy this rural environment, dip into the nearby city, and quickly access the Mt. Hood with skiing and dozens of trails and waterfalls. PLEASE NOTE: You have options on where to stay. In regard to our location and reviewing your stay with us, our approximate location shown on the map is very close to spot on. We love our location we believe you will too. But we are not "in the city" and we cannot change our location. So we feel it is not fair to grade us less than 5 of 5 on something we have no control over. Also, while we enjoy lighting our house up like a “light house” for you, we have no control over how the county lights other roads in this rural side of town. So be warned, some country roads are dark. =). Thank you for being considerate of these factors when you rate your stay with us. Early check in is available for $25.00 Inside: You'll find plenty of space in the 400 square foot studio. We offer one queen bed. But if you let us know ahead of time we can set up an additional single bed. We charge $30.00 for this service. We offer an ideal location for wedding attendees. We are 5 to 10 minutes from most of the wedding venues in the Hood River area. The outdoor property and guest spaces are non-smoking/vaping environments. We offer heavy duty 50amp electric service for EV or electric vehicle charging. Bring your Tesla or other EV for a safe and convenient charging location. There is a small additional cost for this service. If we do not have an adapter to connect your charging cable to our Nema 14-50 outlet, than you will need to bring one. Miscellaneous: All the doors, both interior and exterior are 3 feet wide. The interior of the home is wheelchair friendly.
