Wrap around windows provide views of birch, aspen, cedar, and fir trees, as well as a large variety of birds. The opportunity is also there to see diverse wildlife through the expansive windows. There is plenty of parking close to the house and everything is on one level. In-floor heating makes for quiet and comfortable temperature control in the winter. High awning windows and screened sliding doors make it easy to stay cool in the summer months. The larger south side of the house is composed of an open-plan well-appointed kitchen, dining area and spacious living room, as well as a large bedroom with queen-sized bed, full bathroom and laundry. The bedroom has views of the surrounding woods and a sliding door that opens to the deck. Though the house is in the Grand Marais city limits and close to downtown, it is completely secluded and quiet. It is a quarter mile drive down a private gravel road off Highway 61 at the western edge of town. The newly completed paved bike trail to Cut Face Creek, and paved bike path into town, are at the top of Ravenwood Road. Up Yonder at the Harbor Light is across the street from the turn-off, and Putt ‘n Pets minigolf is next door. Down the hill into Grand Marais, there are many restaurants ( Angry Trout Cafe, Gunflint Tavern, Voyageur Brewing, Sven and Ole’s Pizza, South of the Border Cafe, Blue Water Cafe, My Sister’s Place, Superior Creamery, Cascade Restaurant (southwest along Highway 61 in the Cascade River area), and Sydney’s Frozen Custard), as well as Java Moose Espresso Cafe , and several food trucks (The Crooked Spoon, Taste of India, The Bad Seed, and Shook Smoothies).
