The Outback is an “up north” guest house with knotty pine, a wood burning fireplace and modern amenities. A wonderful space for time with family, a girls’ weekend with college friends or just to get outdoors for hiking, skating, skiing, ice fishing, etc. Close to Crosslake w/many area trails, restaurants and shops. Nisswa is 20 min away, Brainerd approx 35 min. Just a few miles to Pine Peaks Event Center and Trout Lake Camp. The Outback sits above the garage and guests have private access to the three bedroom, one bath unit and large deck looking out towards the lake. Guests have access to the backyard, bonfire pit, wooden dock and plenty of parking in the driveway. The private entrance to the Outback is via the garage service door. We are not always on site, but will be available by phone, text and email for any questions you may have. The Outback is located on Big Trout Lake, connecting to the 14 lakes of the Whitefish Chain. Located approximately 4 miles north of the town of Crosslake and close to the many restaurants, the brewery and a variety of shops within the area. Pine Peaks Event Center, a popular wedding venue, is just 3 miles away. Local shuttle services are available for a night out on the town if arranged in advance and will take you to your choice of hot spots, including Moonlite Bay, the Bourbon Room, Manhattan Beach plus many others, including locations in Breezy Point. Snowmobilers can pick up a trail head less than 1/2 mile down the lake for access to the over 100 miles of trails within the Whitefish Area and Brainerd Lakes Area. Snowmobile rentals are available in Crosslake and also nearby in Pequot Lakes and Nisswa. Cross country skiers and hikers can access the Nordic Ridge Ski and Hiking Trail system at the Crosslake Community Center, just 3.5 miles away. Plenty of parking in the driveway. Restaurants, grocery stores and convenient stores are all within a 5 mile radius and 4 wheelers are allowed within Crosslake city limits. Shuttle drivers are available in the area for pre-arranged rides.
