The house is 5 minutes from downtown Bloomington, 8 minutes from the IU campus, on an acre of land so you have easy access to Bloomington while enjoying country views. The house has been totally renovated inside, including a whole new bathroom and kitchen, as well as beautiful refinished oak floors and new tiling in the kitchen and bathroom. We've paid special attention to making this a guest house for our guests' maximum comfort. We have both smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The living room includes a large, comfy (brand new) couch, lovely antique chairs, a large-screen TV, game cabinet (under the TV), along with a vintage Persian carpet. The kitchen is large with a wrought-iron, glass-topped table and chairs. We provide all cookware and utensils for any cooking or baking, along with a full-sized refrigerator, stove with oven, and microwave oven. There's also a toaster and two coffee makers. The pantry is stocked with household goods, including baggies, tin foil and plastic wrap. There' s also an iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. The bedrooms each have their own color scheme. One bedroom has a queen bed, side tables, antique chest of drawers, and settee. The other bedroom has two twin beds, chest of drawers and a chair. Both bedrooms have a suitcase stand. For both bedrooms, bed linens were chosen for their maximum quality, providing a good night's sleep away from your home! The bathroom features a tub with shower, large, fluffy towels, along with soaps, shampoo and toothbrushes. Outside, there's a large mowed yard surrounded by trees. You'll find a picnic area with metal table and chairs. We hope you'll find our guest house just what you're looking for as you visit Bloomington! The entire house (except for the basement, which the owners will occasionally access through a separate outside door) will be at your disposal, including a front and back porch, along with a picnic area in the back yard. The acre of land backs up against a wooded setting, so there are plenty of birds to watch, along with an occasional groundhog! We will not be greeting guests personally, but will have freshly baked scones on the kitchen table ready at their arrival. We live about 20 minutes away, so if there are ever any issues, we'll be available. The neighborhood is just 5 minutes from downtown Bloomington and with a country setting, there are no close neighbors. Guests can get to the IU campus in just 8 minutes. There's a bus stop just a short walk away. The house has a large parking area so there's never any problem parking. Please note that as hosts, we have committed to Airbnb's ENHANCED CLEANING PROTOCOLS. This means we clean and then sanitize all surfaces; we use CDC-approved cleaning supplies and disinfectants; wear protective gear to prevent cross-contamination; use extensive room-by-room cleaning protocols; provide extra cleaning products in case you want to clean while you stay at our guesthouse; and consult and comply with all local laws. And, lastly, while this house is great while visiting Bloomington, it's not a party house and we ask that guests treat it as their own.
